Kahlen turned back to Aidan. "Oh. Guitar is interesting, though. If you want, though, I'd be more than happy to teach you to dance." Kahlen smiled.
'This has to be, what, the third person I've said this to?' she thought. 'I might as well see if I can start a dance club at SDA. I bet the headmistress will allow that.'
She looked over at Less. "I don't know if that would be a good idea. I just hope he'll calm down soon or I may have heart failure."

Scott answered the wolf's question to try to distract him from the winged boy.
"Yeah, I play violin. And viola, and mandolin, and guitar and a few other instruments. But mostly violin. Do you play music? Or sing?"

The girl's refusal to answer Michelle's question didn't bother the fighter pilot very much. It just meant that Michelle had to spend less time listening to the girl and more time listening to the sound of her own voice. "Lt. Michelle Wilcox, U.S. Navy," she replied, by way of introduction, "I fly f-18s. How about you?"

Mace had chosen a seat right at the back of the bus. She tried to tune out the student conversations buzzing around her like wild-fire, each of them requiring no supervision at all. Just why hadn't she come on time, like she was supposed to? It had been on her calendar for weeks now. The start date and the date that she was supposed to have been in her office -- well, it looked like she would have to work out a new plan of attack. She fingered the hilt of her broad-sword nervously.
Right now all that mattered was getting to the Academy. The good thing here was that none of the students had seemed to notice the lone teacher on the bus, or if they had, they hadn't said a word about it. Quite simply, she just didn't want to do her job quite yet. Wait until she got onto school grounds, though. Then she'd have to figure something out, at the very least.

Less Than Beta calmed down slightly, but it was very slightly. "I can sing the teachings, and I sing with the pack to tell the other packs to stay out of our territory. Mother of Alpha plays the tautirut during the Hunt Dance, but I cannot play it myself." ((Tautirut: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tautirut))

Kahlen resisted the urge to do an air punch. "I'm from Canada. What about you?"
She immediately began assessing Aidan's possible dance talent. 'He'd probably do well in ballroom, but I don't do that... so perhaps tap... or even lyrical..."

Mellianne checked to make sure she had her 2 suitcases together and that her shoes were tied before she stepped onto the bus. She resettled her blue hat and her mostly red hair that had been covering her pointed ears on the plane.
Mellianne looked around for a empty seat and spotting one, started to walk towards it. She managed to get to it without trouble then sorta tumbled into the seat. Looking around, she noticed that no one was in the seat next to her. Settling into the seat, she took out a sports magazine, one about water sports.

"Hmm. No, I haven't heard of that," Kahlen replied with awe. "I suppose you two are princes?"
These brothers were also falling under the 'intriguing mystery boys' category. Kahlen had a feeling all of the boys would be on that list by the end of the year.
"Where exactly is Kielder located?"

"Have not. I do not know much more than the area around where I live," Less said. Weren't countries too big to rule? Even Father of Alpha could only control so much land before other packs began taking chunks for themselves. Alpha himself ruled one of those chunks, with the other Alpha. Less Than Beta gave Aidan a questioning look.
((EDIT: "Looks?" He doesn't have one with him...))

"Technically, yeah," replied Aidan. "Our dad's a Duke, not a king, though. But he still is the head of state. Scott's the oldest out of us two, so he's technically the heir, but he's only ten minutes older than me. Kielder's an island in the South Pacific. Not far from New Zealand. You've heard of New Zealand, right?"

Verin froze. With a huge, insane grin on his face, he turned around very slowly. His eye twitched slightly.
"... You want to make something of this, wolfman?" his skin started to flake away, burnt scraps floating away like motes of ash, revealing flesh glowing like hot coals. His voice taking on a more gravelly, yet unnatural, tone, he said "it must be so sad to be below humans in the chain of things. Wolf, eh? Yet so far from your pack. Nobody here to help you. Are you scared? You should be, because I'm about to flense the skin off your bones and eat your soul."

"Oh, yes, I've heard of New Zealand. I've been there once, but I was too young to remember it," Kahlen said. "It must be nice being in a royal family."
She wondered what the country looked like. It must be lovely most of the time. The brothers must also live in a fancy house...

No, no he hadn't. But from the question, it sounded like he should have heard of this New Zealand place before. And what was the difference between a duke and a king? Weren't both just human alphas? Less Than Beta stayed quiet, but the questioning look became far more pronounced.

Mace glanced up. One of the first year boys seemed to be trying out the devil-boy act. She wasn't exactly sure what he was, but that didn't give him an excuse to take out his nearest opponent.
"Oi! You!" Excellent greeting. They'll listen to you now. "Don't make me come down there."
She sent a glare in the boy's direction, hoping he'd get the message. If he didn't, she'd have to get up. That wouldn't be fair on anyone, now, would it?

Any further conversation with the twins was cut off by Verin. That was a threat and a challenge, both very good reasons for a physical reaction. Less Than Beta grinned. That is to say, he bared his teeth. Grins have a much different meaning for werewolves than they do for humans.
With scarcely a sound he shifted into wolf form, shedding clothes and the bracelet, before climbing on top of the chair in front of him. Less snarled loudly and lifted his ears and tail as high as he could. His fur also fluffed out. This simple dominance display would be followed by a physical attack if Verin were to refuse to back down.

Kahlen's daydreaming about Kielder was interrupted when Less shifted shape. She yelped and practically jumped on Ada. "Ack! Sorry!" she cried. Kahlen didn't much like confrontations and this one looked to be particulalry violent.
Eyes opened as wide as possible, Kahlen glanced at the adult at the back of the bus, wondering if she would do anything.
Kahlen cleared her throat and squeaked at Ada, "Yeah, it's pretty diverse."

Scott backed away from the wolf, shielding his precious violin and wishing that he'd brought his hockey stick on the bus rather than packing it in the baggage compartment underneath. It might not be up to the task of keeping a demon and/or wolf away, but it would be better than nothing.

Right, this wasn't going how she had planned it. Mace would have to get up. These students had no idea of how to subtlety have an argument. It was like watching a small bomb go off.
Shit. One of the first years seemed to be a werewolf. It looked like they were going to have a tiff, right in the middle of the goddamn bus.
She marched down the aisle and stepped between the boys.
"Enough," Mace growled, yanking the werewolf back by the collar. It would be safer if she removed the werewolf from the situation first and get him away for his own safety. Devil-boy needed some extra attention. She drew her sword. "Down. Do you really want detention this early in the school year?"
She glared her best glare. It shouldn't take too long for him to get the message. Otherwise, she'd have to think about clearing the area around the boy. The first year girls might be in danger, too. This is what happened when you brought a bunch of gifted students together. What on earth was the Headmistress thinking?

Less Than Beta let out a yelp as he was sharply pulled back. Oh. Authority figure. He immediately lowered his ears and curled his tail between his legs. If he were free he would roll onto his back, but the hand on his scruff prevented that. Instead, he let out a high-pitched whine, hoping to get across that he recognized her as outranking him. He wished humans could speak wolf.

"hm?" Verin was staring at a sword all of a sudden. Looking up the blade, he saw an angel." He quickly turned down the demonic influence, and his flesh cooled, taking the appearance of skin again. "certainly, professor." he said. "I would simply hate detention...." he returned silently to hi handle, emotionally and physically drained from the transformation.

Kahlen audibly sighed, relieved that there wouldn't be a confrontation between Less and Verin. She warily eyed the sword the teacher was holding.
Less had been pulled out of the conversation and was whining. "What's wrong with him?" Kahlen asked no one in particular. She straightened the area around her seat, where her MP3 player and bag had been flung when she jumped.

All right. That had cooled down quickly. Obviously, the threat of detention worked wonders with a bunch of first years. She'd hate to have to try that with the older students. She sheathed the sword.
"You," she said to the werewolf, "Back of the bus. I'm not going to be having this happening again."
She looked at the devil-boy. Eventually, she'd have to figure out what to do about him. Though she wasn't exactly an angel right now, the point was moot. She still had enough influence over those that weren't high up in the rank's of hell. Thank God for that.
"And you." She indicated towards the devil boy, "Up the front. Away from the girls. Mind you behave yourself. None of this again, or it will be detention."
Mace released her grip on the werewolf and headed back to her seat. She didn't lower her guard. In this place, it would be a bad idea. Mace made up her mind to keep an eye on the boys in the future. They were just the sort of folk that could give her a headache.

Less Than Beta pulled himself from the professor's grip and shifted back. He yawned loudly as he flopped down on his seat. He was still "speaking" wolf, though, so he was still crouched down and shrinking back. If no one reminded him, it would probably take him a minute or two to remember that humans were supposed to wear clothes.
