"Oh! Well, this is our library. It's state of the art, we have a wide selection of books, and best of all, it's quiet~. I'm Parum, the librarian, and if you have any questions at all regarding the library, I'll be more than glad to answer them for you!"

Anna nodded.
"I'll remember that."

Parum walked back over to the three students she had given the list to, smiling as she went, straightening a book out here and there, looking through a few pages...
...oh! The students, right!
"Are you three getting along? Do you have any questions?"

Joshua looked at Shihab. "Uh, where are you going?" He checked out the categories on the shelves. "I'm not really keen on history. Well, maybe history of science...?" He absent-mindedly followed him into the section. Autumpne seemed to take this as a slight against her, and her usually depressed expression took on a similarity to the grand, booming anger of rolling thunderclouds. "I like history,"she said. "Daddy says the best way to understand what is going on around you in the present is to study the past." Parum walked back over to the three students she had given the list to, smiling as she went, straightening a book out here and there, looking through a few pages... ...oh! The students, right! "Are you three getting along? Do you have any questions?" Autumpne turned around, her expression quickly changing to one of simple morose, the stormy tempest of anger suddenly gone. "Oh, yes, Miss. And I don't think we do."

Parum smiled at the girl.
"Good! It's so nice to see students coming together to help out. I'll be at the desk if you need anything~"
And with that, Parum returned to her lunch.

Joshua looked through the books in the prehistory section, disappointed. The word 'prehistory' should have been a clue, he figured. "This is just all apes and cavemen and flint tools", he said, exasperatedly.

Today was a busy day, and Alaine stepped into the library with a stack of her own books under one arm. She nodded to Miss Parum behind the counter with a smile, and made her way to the prehistory section to look up a few things. Incidentally, she overheard the comment from Joshua about cavemen.
"That's not all there is in here, Mr Quasar. Prehistory also encompasses early Egyptian society, American indian communities, studies for European pre-Roman times, China before writing - it's simply history before history could ocally be written. Flint tools are part of that, yes, but so is pottery, agriculture, and the development of urban communities. Simply denoting it as flint and cavemen is underappreciating the study. After all, archaeologists study prehistory to study the origins of humankind and its development."
She put the stack of books on a nearby table, and pored over the shelf. She'd been here before to look things up. "Here for something, specific, maybe? I need to have this one here, the Cambridge Encyclopedia of human Evolution. It's a good book."

Derek scrutinized the small notepad in his hand while he wandered toward the library, trying to commit the books on the list to memory before he arrived. He didn't succeed, but he did manage to distract himself enough that he didn't even see the librarian's sign as he walked through the door.

Parum was very quick to spot the next student coming into the library. After all, Alaine already knew enough about history to fill a few books herself! She quickly walked over to the boy entering the library.
"Hello! Have you come to help the other students volunteer today, or are you looking for a book~?"

Derek twitched as the librarian's cheery voice disrupted his concentration, causing Echoes to dart from inside his shirt and skitter to a perch on the top of the boy's head.
"Um, yeah... books... uh," the boy stammered, trying to reconcile his previous train of thought with the current conversation. "I came to look... um, volunteer, what?"
The demi-lizard simply gazed at the librarian in silence.

Joshua listened the professor prattle on about her specialty like any self-respecting specialist would, and he did respect that, but these strange peoples and their thousands years exctinct cultures would not help him one iota.
"I appreciate that Professor Kensigton, but like you are likely not interested in the myriad of physical sciences, similarly I am not interested in the myriad of historical sciences, save for those regarding the history of said physical sciences."

"I also teach biology here. There's always more to things than you might first think. If mankind hadn't invented fire, the wheel, pottery, and all those other things youthink boring, we wouldn't have been able to have those sciences now. They might not have developed until historical times, but without prehistory there would be no history. If you want physical sciences books though, you'll want that shelf over there."
She pointed towards a shelf a little bit further, and smiled.

"Ah, but I am looking for something to do with the history of natural science. Will that be in history or science?"

"That depends on how far back you want to search, the oldest things are in the history section, I think. The latest developments in the area are amongst the science books, though. In general, you can assume that anything before 1900 or so is in the history section, and 1950 is about the point where most things start ending up in their own sections. t's a bit tricky. If there's a list you can look things up in, you could check that."

Anna, meanwhile, who had been in the background, suddenly came up to Parum.
"So, how big is this place?"
