A tall girl tugged a rather large rolling suitcase behind her as she approached the bus stop. She would have been unusually pale if much of her skin could have been seen, and she would have been willowy if she wasn't wearing about six layers. A colorful knit cap was pulled down securely over her head, and a few stray white hairs poked out of it.
There was the bus! She'd been on enough of those in her lifetime. She looked around at the other students, and was surprised to find that she was quite looking forward to making friends with them. The isolation for all those years had made her antsy...and she did like humans. They were funny.
"Hello!" she said cheerfully, bounding up to them (as much as anyone could bound in snow pants), "My name is -" Keep it simple, they'd warned her, her full Almerati name was a little unwieldy - "Kip!"

Glad that the bus was finally here as she was getting a little hungry, Mellianne turned to Kip and smiled. "Hello. I'm Mellianne. It's a pleasure to meet you!" Though she did raise an eye at all the layers Kip was wearing.

Slightly overwhelmed by the sheer volume of otherness she was picking up from, well, evryone, Susan had contented herself with keeping her ears out for the flow of introductions. Laquinta's attention did register though and she looked over one shoulder at the other girl.
"What? Is there something on my face?" she asked, holding her extremely heavy suitcase up for Mr. Modest to take as if it weighed nothing at all.

"Nai, your face." Laquinta stuck out her tongue. "Pós se lene - ah, what's your name? Me lene Laquinta Sebuz. Charmed, doubtless." Her smirk might have been a bit too big there. Big enough to be offensive? Hopefully. This girl was getting on her nerves, as she had seemingly detected her gaze.

Kahlen perked up when she heard the bus arriving. She righted her overturned suitcase and turned to the others. "So, shall we find some nice seats?"
She plopped Mikhail back on her head so that she could free both of her hands.

Less Than Beta scrambled onto the bus, not realizing that the person he had nearly run into was yelling at him. He naturally headed to the seat he had sat in during the previous semester, an aisle seat near the back of the bus. Only then did he check to see where his friends were.

Mellianne lifted her suitcase and placed it in the compartment. "Sure. I hope we don't have anything like last time happen again.!" Then noticing where Mikhail was, she giggled. He looked so cute perched on Kahlen's head.

Kahlen laughed. "No, kidding! That was way too much excitement for a bus ride."
She shoved her suitcases into the luggage compartment and headed up the bus stairs. She spotted Less in the backs and waved. "Mind if we join you?"

Mannie had been thankfully quieted by the fact that his hand had started throbbing painfully. Thus, he was somewhat sulky. He didn't say much as he hauled his luggage bag up to the overhead compartment and sat down in the nearest empty seat. Since he hadn't put any of his supplies back in said bag before doing so, he busied himself checking his ampoules for any cracks and chips which could jeopardize their function by using a small penlight and a magnifying glass he retrieved from a pocket.

Less waved back. "Sure! Come on over." As he lifted his bag onto his lap and rummaged through it with one hand, he pointed at the seat across the aisle with the other. "Let's make plans for another dancing class, okay?" Finally, he retrieved a piece of paper and a pen, though admittedly the paper was rather crumbled.

"It's a pleasure to meet you too," Kip said, flashing Mellianne her most winning smile. She stowed her own suitcase in the luggage compartment and boarded the bus. Then she looked for an empty seat, finally plonking herself down next to Mannie. "Hi!"

Mannie jerked in surprise, nearly dropping the ampoule he was holding. The speed at which he clutched it to his chest and the care with which he set it down might reveal a hint to its contents. The look of relief on his face as it remained undamaged would be another hint. "Hello?" he asked cautiously.

Big enough to be offensive? Hopefully. This girl was getting on her nerves, as she had seemingly detected her gaze. The Daunt scion blinked and frowned at the taller girl, offering politely, "Susan Daunt. A pleasure to meet you." And with that she, stowed her suitcase herself and boarded the bus, classifying Laquinta firmly in the category 'people to watch out for'.

Laquinta blinked. That hadn't been the reaction she was going for. Oh well. She grabbed her single luggage trolley and slung it in the baggage compartment, then followed everyone into the bus.

Post by Herbert "Herbie" Skik on Jul 9, 2010 16:27:15 GMT -5
A rather loud commotion was raised at the airport terminal for arrivals, and not soon after something rather grotesque headed in the way of the bus. Fifteen feet of yellowish-brown snake was slithering its way up to the busstation when - "Ah, not agin, mon. Ya mean I gotta stick my scales in de bloody squeegy bos wan' I jus' got outta the foogin plane?" With a rather articulated flick of something in Herbie's hand that clattered and rattled all the way, the long tail rapidly withdrew to be replaced by a scruffy pair of legs with wobbly knees. He adjusted the wrap-around skirt in bright yellows and greens he was wearing, and then realised the suitcase he'd brought with him was about fifteen feet behind him because he'd been dragging it by the tail.
"Fak, faK, FAK! Is I still in time? De bos betteh not be gone yet..." With a muffled grunt he heaved the suitcase into the compartment, leaving him with a backpack that also seemed to make muffled clattering sounds everytime he moved. With another muted curse he scrambled into the bus with an odd, slanted way of walking. His bare feet slapped on the stone of the pavement.
