Name: Antiope Katsaros
Age: 27
Hair color: Naturally dark brown bordering on black, but usually dyed some vibrant shade. As of this term, it's lime green.
Eye color: Pure sky blue
Height: 5'8"
Appearance: Antiope was built striking, solid and curvy. When she stands still, she plants herself as if to stand against the world. Her complexion is somewhat darker than most Caucasians, and she takes to the sun well. (Cold weather, however, is not her friend.) Her eyes are like her mother's, the vibrant blue of a summer sky; her hair, when left alone, is her father's, thick, dark, and curly. She wears it long, to her waist, though usually pulled back, and if not for the weight of it she would have a mane of untamable frizzy curls.
Circling the base of her neck is the reason she is rarely seen in low-cut shirts, a deep red pattern of intricate lace that appears to be merely a particularly pretty birthmark.
Biography: Antiope is the only daughter of an American journalist and a Greek businessman. The two of them met while she was writing an article about him; he was charmed by her eloquence, asked her to dinner, and the rest was history. Antiope is their firstborn, though not her father's heir.
As soon as she learned to make herself understood, her father noticed that there was an alarmingly high rate of other people caving to her demands. He had his suspicions -- his family had a history of oddness, which their stories said came from distant relation to gods (Zeus and his kin were so very promiscuous in their day, after all) -- but proved nothing until, in the midst of a tantrum at age six, she ordered one of the maids to go soak her head. The maid, being thoroughly blindsided and furthermore less willful than Antiope, did just that.
As soon as her father was aware of her gift for command, he made everyone else she interacted with daily aware of it as well, which made it twice as hard for her to get what she wanted. Naturally, Antiope rose to this challenge appropriately, learning to work toward her goals the old-fashioned way -- but she also learned to want twice as hard.
The end result, after several long, long years, was a stubborn, strong-willed woman with a love for her mother's tongue and an unfortunate tendency to order people around without realizing it. Eventually, Antiope determined that the current state of English education was, by her standards, abysmal, and made certain to find herself a position in which she could impress linguistic standards upon lacking teenage minds.
Personality: In short, Antiope is determination. She chooses a goal and charges straight for it, and heaven help anything or anyone that might happen to get in her way. She has a sense of humor, though it does not extend to misspellings and improper grammar. She doesn't shy from confrontation; rather, she welcomes it, with the expectation of coming out on top. She usually does. And, when she doesn't, she finds a way in which she did.
Antiope often offers help -- perhaps more brusquely than she means to -- but never accepts it. She is so very certain that she can do everything in her way, on her own, and, perhaps because of that certainty, it is very often true.
In day-to-day life she is loud, easily amused (though just as easily displeased), and often manic.
Class taught: English, Literature, and, if needed, Poetry.
Skills: Naturally, Antiope is bilingual. She has her voice, of course, though she does not sing. Rather, Antiope takes to the written word, and is quite skilled at both prose and academic writing, though she rarely commits poetry on purpose. In addition, she has no troubles with public speaking. In fact, she rather enjoys the art.
Sue/Stu Traits:
Cool marks other than scars (-2)
Rich (-10)
Multilingual (-6)
"Magical" (-10) -- limited control, exercised vocally, over the weak-willed and/or unaware. Effect lessens over multiple people. Also, given the general strength of mind of the people at St. Dymphna's, here it is likely that Antiope will only be able to force her will on others if she catches them by surprise.
Brilliant at writing, public speaking (-6, -6)
Detractors
Hard worker (+4)
36/40
I should prefer that the master account have Antiope's name on it; that way, at least genders will match.
