With a bit of a bored look on her face, Laquinta drifted through the hallways, and into a door. This seemed to be a library, she brilliantly deducted from the shelves full of books, and she wondered if there was a myth section she could have a look at. It might be interesting looking up things on her species in there, the old myths wer always kind of interesting. Medusa and her sisters made for a good story about bad gorgons, though it wasn't too well received in her community, but maybe she could find other things on them.
That, or unicorns. Unicorns were such fascinating creatures, they could keep her occupied with thoughts for hours on end. They were so white and shiny and horsey and - hold that. Library first. She put on her serious face and moved to intercept the nearest shelf label to look for the myth section.

Parum noticed the young girl walking into the library. Well, she mostly noticed the snakes at first, and after a slight panic attack (Snakes! In the library!) she calmed herself down and walked over to the young girl.
"Hello! Is there anything I can help you with today? You look like you're searching for a certain book."
Parum made sure, as always, to put on all her best charm~

"Oh! So there was a vhivliothekaria here. What are you supposed to be, some sort of daimón?" Laquinta pulled up her nose a little, examining the rather bouncy woman. These bubbly people were exactly the ones she couldn't deal with properly, and oh god, a figure of authority. There were probably all sorts of silly rules about this place.
"But eh, I look for the muthologhia section - er, where the old stories are written down." One of the snakes on her head hissed softly.

Parum looks at the girl, tilting her head at the unusually large words. Most students were severely lacking in proper vocabularies, but this girl seemed wonderfully bright! Parum smiled, pleased~
"Why, yes! I'm a succubus, and I'm the librarian here. My name is Parum, and it's very nice to meet you! If you're looking for mythology books, the self is just over there~"
Parum motioned the girl to a nearby shelf.
"If you need any help looking or need a book that's up too high, I'll be more than happy to help~"
Parum was feeling quite energetic today! She knew she could brighten up this student's day, too~

Urgh, didn't she notice the complete contempt there? This is why she had so much problems with these types of people.
"Efcharistó. I'll be over there then. Anything I should know about conduct in the vhivliothèka?"
The snakes on her head wriggled around and stuck out their tongues to sniff out Parum, who was quite an alien presence. In her mind she noted to look up what exactly a 'sukoubus' was. It would be interesting, probably. Her eyes wandered over the librarian.. curves everywhere.
Her eyebrow raised ever so slightly upwards when she reached her chest level. If a sukoubus was some kind of spiritual or supernatural being, this one was certainly well-endowed. Her face turned yet a shade more sour as she remembered what she herself looked like, glossing over the fact that she was only 13 herself.

"Well, as long as you're quiet, put books back where you find them, and don't bring any food or drink into the library, there aren't too many rules to worry about! If you're looking for a good book on mythological beings, there's a lovely set of encyclopedias right here that have many details on anything you'd like to know~"
Parum streeeetched up to a slightly higher shelf, picking a book off the row.
"Here, this is a good place to start. Are there any other questions about anything in library you have? I'm more than glad to help!"

"...indeed." She gave the encyclopedia a sceptic look, and eyed the shelf. The encyclopedia would have interesting things in it, but she was looking more for stories... but it'd certainly improve her mood if she could get rid of the annoying librarian first. This woman was too perfect... but her personality seemed to be a little absent. SO annoying.
"Point me to a table. I look up more books myself." The annoyance got the better of her there, and with a crisp and sharp voice the first order of the day was issued. If she was so helpful, then let her help. The bubbly feelings she was spreading weren't doing any good, it made her feel slightly nauseous. Sometimes knowing people's situations and their mental state was not a happy thing.

"Of course! There's a table right over here, along with a list of books and locations."
Parum led the girl over to the table, setting the books down for her.
"If there's anything else you need, I'm more than glad to help! Anything in particular you're looking for?"

"I look myself." She was getting ever more annoyed with the librarian. Couldn't she just leave people be? "I am not stupid."
She plopped the book onto the table and pulled up a chair. If that woman came any closer to her she felt like she was going to puke, her mass of thoughts was like a swirling cloud of pink and bunnies. For her own sanity's sake she didn't imagine it as unicorns. Unicorns were in a different league than this. Unconsciously she paged to the back of the book, to the 'u' in the encyclopedia...

"Just let me know if you need anything!"
Parum moved over to the other end of the table, bending over at the waist to pick up a few books someone else had left there, leaning there for a moment. However, she wasn't quite strong enough to pick them all up, and left one book behind. Apparently, someone else had been looking up mythological beings, and had stopped on 'Succubus'. The book sat there, open.

Laquinta glanced after the woman, who left her presence lingering all over the room. She was sticking her butt out while trying to pick up a way-too-big pile of books... wait, what was that? A book on monsters and demons? Laquinta snuck to the table, and quickly scrounged away the book to her own seat. She dove her nose into the book, reading rapidly through the complicated English text. She skipped a few words she didn't know, but what she did read... she went a little red on her cheeks.
She slammed the book shut and filed it away mentally under 'further research' and put it aside with a thump. She dove her nose back into the encyclopedia, and glanced over at the demonic librarian from the corner of her eye. Seriously? That's what a succubus did? Her stare was probably strong enough to bore a hole into a lesser person's back, and her own telepathic power made her stares rather... noticeable, even if they were at someone's back.

Parum felt odd for a moment. She turned around, looking at the student who was, from as far as she could tell, nose-first in a book. She wondered for a moment what it could be for a moment...and then it hit her! This student wanted to ask something, but was simply too shy! Well, Parum, could fix that.
Parum walked over to the table, bending over across from Laquinta, hands behind her back.
"Are you sure you don't need anything? You seem a bit frustrated!"

Her eyes nearly popped out of her head.
"Frustrated? FRUSTRATED?!" No yelling in the library, right. "You are nosy, erethistika, vhlakas, and most of all, why are you so happy?! You give me pain in my head by being near me! How can you be a demon like that and be a librarian? Why did they even let you in here?"
She wasn't used to talking this much, but the bubbly frilly pink cloud of happy drifting around the librarian was really getting on her nerves, and this had to be vented somewhere. Parum was unlucky enough to be both the cause and the nearest thing available for venting. "Just leave me in peace! I look for books myself!"

Parum stood there for a moment, completely stunned by the sudden, loud outburst by the girl. She stood up for a moment, frowned, and nodded.
"Fine! I won't help you look or see if you need anything."
She crossed her arms, rather displeased at the outburst. Not so much because the girl was insulting, but because she yelled in the library, where the rule clearly stated that it was to remain quiet!
"I am afraid I must give you detention for noise violation in the library."
Parum's bubbly mood had quickly fizzled.

Laquinta couldn't help but smirk at the disappearance of the bubbly-wubbly pink cloud. It felt more comfortable in here already.
"Pffff. Eat me. Or wait, you are supposed to be doing that to men, ochee?" The snakes on her head twirled angrily, hissing and trying to snap at nearby things. She swatted them down with a free hand.

Parum glared at the girl, wings flapping open.
"Two detentions. And counting. Green eyes or not, jealousy is an ugly color on you."
With that, Parum, returned to her desk, in a much less bubbly mood. At least she knew why this student was so rude.

Laquinta squeezed her eyes to narrow slits at that. She? Jealous? What did this daimón know? There'd been something about emotions in that book, but... Argh. This was not going as planned. She didn't have to suffocate in all the pink fluff of the librarian's thoughtcloud anymore, but two detentions already was about as many as she could courteously get before standing out too much for now.
With a clearly audible 'Urgh' she set to the book, and the snakes hissed at the back of the librarian. She vowed to herself to ignore the woman, and dove into the encyclopedia. Unicorns would really brighten her mood right now. That or a reference to a good myth book on gorgons, if this thing had any references. But... unicorns. She flipped to the u, and tried to find the magic ponies. Unicoooorns... :3

Parum wrote out the two detention slips, as well as a note to Cutty, explaining the rather rude remark Laquinta had made about Parum's...morals. She walked back to the tables, and set them by Laquinta's book.
"You'll come back this saturday, 6am sharp. You're going to help me sort books and clean the library until noon. And, of course, you'll do it with a smile~"
Parum was already feeling a bit better.

...seriously? All the unicorny glee vanished, and Laquinta gave Parum the sourest look she could muster. Annoyance was practically oozing out of her.
"If I have to." She ignored the strips, and Parum, and went back to reading.

Parum just smiled at the glare, walking back to the desk before taking her seat.
...she did wonder for a moment why a Gorgon would like Unicorns, but that passed.

Still annoyed about the succubus telling her off, she closed the book and walked up to the desk.
"Can I borrow this?" She plopped the encyclopedia on the counter.

"Of course you may. Simply write your name, the name of the book you're checking out, and the date."
Parum slid the check-out log to Laquinta.
