After ducking slightly to avoid Kahlen's elbow, Ada stood up as well.
"Here's hoping," she said, looking out the window. "Looks like a nice place..."

"I hope this is the Academy, too. Were you also sent by your family?" Less was genuinely curious, not just making conversation. Humans didn't need to learn about themselves, so presumably the other students were going there for their own reasons. Probably just to learn as much as they could, but there was no doubt that some had to have been sent for another purpose.

"It sure does," Kahlen replied. The sky had darkened, so Kahlen squinted a bit to see clearly. She pushed her glasses up on her nose. "Whatever building that is, it's really big. Wow."
Kahlen was excited to be at the destination, but she didn't want to think about dragging her bags around again.

Farran, for his part, let Mellianne talk. She was somewhat entertaining, after all, and he didn't have any valuable input on the subject of water, groundings, and caffeination. "It's fine," he said, after realizing she'd apologized. "It's a passion, isn't it?" He glanced up and around as he felt the bus slowing. "I suppose we're either there or nearly. You didn't bring any coffee, in a mug or something?"

Elena, who in the absence of imminent violence or some other interesting distraction had reverted back to staring out the window, perked up as the Academy come into view. She quickly began scrounging for her duffel bag, which had slid around a bit during the drive.

Mellianne shook her head. "I'm not a big fan of coffee, and I was in a hurry to get to the bus stop. I only had time to stop by and buy a bottle of water cause it was right there. Glad I did too, otherwise I would have had to try and crawl under the seats earlier to grab my glasses." She streached, which caused her back to make a popping sound. When the bus stopped, she started to gather her two small bags up and made sure they were closed.

((reply to Michelle, belated cause timezones meant that post happened in the middle of the night for me))
"We're not in here for anything in particular. As in, we didn't mess up, at least, not this time... Dad reckons that Aidan and I need the challenge of attending a school where we have to get used to 'working with people of different backgrounds', which will be a 'valuable learning experience', whatever that means..."
"There'd better be a good music program at this place," he said. "Do you play?"
As they spoke, Scott noticed the grounds of St Dymphna's drawing into view. He noted the large school grounds with approval - surely there must be some good sports fields in the middle of all that landscaping?

While Scott was engaged in conversation with the fighter pilot, Aidan reverted to staring out of the window, until he saw the Academy approach in the distance. He emerged from his reverie to hear Kahlen, Ada and Less discussing the school.
"I hope it's the academy, as well," he said, to no-one in particular. "I'm hungry, and cause of all this flying I had to miss my swim training this morning. Maybe there'll be time for a quick swim when we get there."

"I've never played anything except flight sims," Replied Michelle. "Hey, looks like the bus is almost at the academy. It was nice talking to you."

"Likewise," said Scott as he began to collect his stuff, grabbing his backpack and slinging his violin over his shoulder. "I'm sure I'll see you around."

Ada was also relatively quick to grab her bags and start up the aisle towards the door.
"This will be fun!" she said, more to herself than anyone.

When the bus stopped, Malakai got up without waiting for an answer from Nikolai. He gathered his bags and backpack and waited while others were getting off the bus.

Mace woke with a start. The bus had ground to a stop just outside the school grounds. She had no intentions of staying aboard this cramped contraption. The only intention she did have was stretching her wings. Hanging around students was hardly her idea of fun at this early stage.
With a running jump, she took off into the skies overhead and headed straight for the Academy. She had lessons to prepare, after all.

Farran got out of Mellianne's way, collecting his own pieces of luggage. "Don't like coffee... I suppose I just assumed. It's the most likely source of caffeine, after all. Energy drinks, then?" He didn't move back into the aisle, instead motioning to Mellianne to precede him into the morass of students making their way off the buss.

As Mellianne led the way, she turned her head a little to talk to Farran more easily. "I know, most caffeine lovers prefer coffee. While I love the smell of it, I just can't stand how it tastes. Same with energy drinks, minus the good smell of course. I prefer soda, specially Coke and Dr. Pepper."
She tried to make sure not to bump into anyone too badly as she made her way off the bus.

"Hm." Farran made a face at this. "To each their own, I guess. Yikes, crowded." He tried very hard not to injure anyone with elbows or other sharp joints as he followed Mellianne toward the end of the bus; it would likely not endear him to anyone.

Jolted out of her book when the bus stopped, Somariel looked up and realized that the bus had arrived at the academy. Putting the book back into her backpack, she gathered up her bags and got off the bus.

Post by Destiny Valencia Everett on May 16, 2010 19:39:24 GMT -5
Destiny was having a really good nap... so much so, in fact, that when she woke, she was momentarily confused. Blinking and rubbing her eyes, she tried to piece together what had happened and why she was hugging a suitcase.
Oh. Bus. St. Dymphna's. Right.
Said bus was now, of course, quite empty, and Desi had somehow managed to sleep through everything. Most likely, she was also late for something. Again.
Sighing, she took the suitcase by the handle and made her way down the aisle toward the front of the bus. The doors were closed, and no driver left to open them.
She looked around. All right. There had to be a way to open those doors. She knew she must've seen bus drivers do it a thousand times; but she couldn't really remember how, exactly, it was done. Frustrated, she kicked at the doors with her little pink sneakers.
The doors opened.
Behind her, a handle turned. Ah, so that was how you did it. Well, other than kicking the doors, that is.
Desi shrugged and climbed out of the bus. Now to figure out where she was supposed to be...
