Fredericks blinked a bit as Kensington arrived and looked from the window to where she exited the building. He shrugged.
"Don't mind if I keep working, do ya Professor?" asked Fredericks as he shuffled off with his watering can, eyes on the ground, to the spigot at the corner of the building. "Llots to do before those bra...errr...students... show up."

((This is cont'd from the teacher's lounge, page 1))
"Of course not. I wanted to ask you about something concerning my classes. I intend to have several classes outside, for the Biology course, and I'd like your advice for a suitable spot. I don't want them running around tromping through the grounds, wrecking things. Is there a place where I can let the lot of them look around where they can't do any damage? I'd ate to see the grounds turn into a disaster zone." She pushed a lock of her silvery white hair behind her ear. "I know what kids can do to a place, they tend to make a mess out of anything they touch."

"Bloody right, the bast....err...yes."
As Fredericks considered the question he looked a little uneasy, shuffling his feet as the watering can filled. "Well there's a clearing not far in but I wouldn't linger there after dark. But you wouldn't be having classes after dark would you?" He looked up for a split second but didn't wait for the answer. "Of course not, no classes after dark. No sense in that. So the clearing is fine. Just don't mind the...err...rocks."

"Oh no, definitely not after dark. Who knows what we could run into. And aside from that, I don't see them tromping off after me at a time they'd rather be messing around playing games or sleeping." She scowls a bit, but still looks mostly neutral. "I'd have to have a look at it sometime before I go out there with them, it probably won't be for at least a monththough, or possibly in sprig when the weather is better. If there's a lot of rocks I might need to tell them to bring solid shoes, or have those provided by the school."
She looked around for a bit, and sighed a soft sigh of contentment. "I do have to say, this school has a wonderful piece of nature around it. It's reall beautiful."

"Oh no! S'not that there's too many rocks, I'd just not 'ppreciate them bein' moved around too much. They're decent sized, oh 'bout the size of a person, but I figure some of the bra...students...might be able to move 'em. "
He paused and looked around then looked up at Kensington. His eyes were pinpoints of light in his weathered face. "Pretty 'nuff now I suppose. Nature's like that. Pretty one day, horrible the next. Folks tend ta forget that." He looked back at his shoes.

"Ah, true. But still, even withered things can look beautiful in a way. I'll check the clearing you mentioned later, thank you very much for the help, I really appreciate it. And I do hope none of them will be able to move rocks that big... and if they can I'll keep an eye on them." Alaine smiled at the old groundskeep and checked her watch. "It's been nice talking to you, mister Fredericks. I'm afraid I have something scheduled soonish, so I'd like you to show me the clearing another time, is that okay with you?"

"Yeah, yeah. Whenever ya 'ave the time. I've got plenty of it."
He nodded in an almost respectful way and then shuffled off, grabbing the ladder as he went.

"I'll see you later then." Alaine strode off again, this time not quite as fast as when she came downstairs, aiming to pick up her reading - that is, after the call to her mother in her retirement home she'd promised to make. She disappears up the stairs.

Running across the lawn as fast as she could go with her suitcase bouncing against her legs, Destiny made for the front doors. Hopefully she wasn't going to be too late...

A strange, silvery motor scooter buzzes up the school drive through. A petite preteen girl steps off, wild red hair cascading down to her waist, with a flowing silver dress, as well as what appeared to be silver gloves and boots.
As she steps away from the scooter, the silver sheen evaporates, and the machine falls apart into a pile of scavenged scrap - loose peices of metal, half molded tires, rusted engine components.
The girl doesn't seem to notice, but instead looks up at the school, a wide smile on her young face, decorated with intricate silver designs and patterns. She takes a deep breath and walks towards the main entrance.
