Verin was first off the bus because he was standing at the front. He was deep in thought. One of the professors was an angel... and above that, he hadn't felt her filthy "holier-than-thou" aura all angels exuded. He doubted that his simple "open a portal to hell and let the consequences be damned" plan was going to work now. He wasn't sure it would work in the first place, since for his father it was only ever temporary, but it wasn't even worth trying any more. He had to find another way home... This school was making things more complicated than it should be.
Stepping off the bus, he noticed that the driver had overshot slightly and driven one wheel onto the grass. That was probably his fault. He'd been messing with the driver for kicks, giving him flashing memories of demonic creatures. It was fairly amusing, but not enough to distract him from his plans.

Aelita squirmed through the crowd gathering at the front of the bus and sprang from the bus.
She let her wings extend and relax and then took to the air. She had not yet wondered where her things were.
(ooc: if it is alright, then her things will be in the girls dormitory common room.)
She knew people would likely notice her flying gracefully above them, and enjoyed the thought very much.

Michelle looked on in disgust as Aelita flew overhead. She did not appreciate being upstaged, particularly by someone as hyper-saccharine as the younger girl. Michelle would have to find a way to show the class her own flying skills, preferably before she developed diabetes.

Less Than Beta scrambled off the bus, carelessly shoving aside other students and nearly bumping into Michelle. He wanted to scope out the place, find good scouting and hunting locations, but he had been told by one of the Alphas to go directly inside once he arrived. After staring forlornly at the woods bordering the campus, he turned to follow the mass of students.

Scott and Aidan followed the rest of the St Dymphna's first-years off the bus. As they were collecting their bags from the storage compartments under the bus, Scott looked around at the academy buildings, then was distracted by the sight of someone actually flying.
"Can this school get any more weird?" he asked Aidan.

As Rena got off the bus, there was someone flying around, high above the ground. On any other day, she'd probably have tried to shoot her down for a bit of sport, but the thought reminded her that she was without any weapons. It felt like losing a limb, after so long when the rifle was her only constant companion.
The school wasn't too far away, and it didn't look like anyone was coming to greet them, so Rena started walking toards the front entrance.

Elena finally got off the bus, grumbling a bit after nearly getting knocked down by an overeager Less Than Beta. She slung her duffel bag around her shoulder before taking in the campus grounds. There is a nostalgic air about her, almost as if she is glad to be home.
She caught a glimpse of one of the students from the bus flapping through the air. She shakes her head in a bemused sort of way before trudging in the direction of the front hall.

Aelita saw that some people were watching her, so she started some aerial acrobatics and then added in her specialty--the mesmer--a special dancing and singing routine that fairies do to mesmerize humans. Normal humans seeing and hearing it become enthralled and unable to do anything but stare lovingly at the fairy for the duration.

Ada pulled on her headphones as she stepped out of the bus, content to let the crowd carry her to the front entrance. Harsh German electro-industrial noise was the only thing she heard as she walked, carrying her two cases.

Waves of magic were falling upon the crowd. Weak magic, a glamour for humans, but magic nonetheless. As a demon, Verin felt it as much the light wind. It annoyed him, but he assumed she's quit it soon enough. He had more important things to deal with.
back on to the subject of getting home. If the portal isn't going to work, what will? I wonder if breaking a promise will work. I always assumed it was too mundane to be real. Besides, demon's aren't noticed for being honest to humans anyway. Being here for so long is severing my bonds, I need to -
"WILL YOU STOP THAT?!" Verin shouted, lobbing a fireball in the general direction of the fairy.

"Another childish display," Less Than Beta grumbled to himself as he watched the fireball fly into the sky. "His alphas must have been lax with him as a pup." He considered going wolf and confronting him again, but the thought of that teacher getting involved a second time stopped him.

Malakai stepped off the bus just in time to see a tiny little girl with large wings dodge a fireball. He had seen the display Verin had put on earlier and until he had more intel he didn't want to challenge him. The girl was not hurt, so for now, he continued his observations.

Aelita shrieked in as amazingly beautiful way as possible as she dodged the fireball that came speeding her way. She was bored with the mesmer anyway, and flew off to investigate the grounds.

Kahlen hurried off the bus, eager to stretch her legs. She grabbed her bag from under the seat and hopped down the steps to retrieve her suitcases from the storage compartment. They were easy to find because they were electric blue.
Kahlen trotted up to Ada, not wanting to be stuck alone in a strange place. "It's really beautiful-" she started before noticing that Ada had her headphones on. Kahlen shrugged and went along with the crowd.
She noticed the aerobatic displays in the air of a small girl. 'I think interesting is the understatement of the century,' Kahlen thought. She jumped when Verin shouted and threw a fireball at the girl. Kahlen wasn't a big fan of fire and wanted to stay as far away from it as possible.
Kahlen craned her neck to try to get a glimpse of the grounds, but she was too short to see around most of the crowd. The Academy seemed huge, judging by the lawn that appeared to go on forever.

Michelle had just been assembling her rifle, planning to try to shoot down the fairy that was performing aerobatics overhead, when someone beat her to the punch. She did not see who had cast it, but a fireball streaked towards the little girl. The pink fairy narrowly dodged the projectile, then sped off, hopefully never to return. Michelle began repacking the M-16 and followed the other students toward the school.

With the students having arrived, Fredericks took down the ladder, leaving it on the ground for the moment. He stood well back from the path they would take from the bus to front door, glaring in their general direction. The flying girl did not even warrent a second glace, although as she fluttered about he was reminded for a moment of his visit to Sirenum scopuli.
The fireball did cause a narrowing of his eyes but as it was aimed up and dissipated in the air it required no further action on his part. So instead he stood and watched and mumbled to himself, a pair of hedge clippers* idly held in his hand.

Nikolai had been about to answer Malakai when the bus rolled into the grounds, and he'd forgotten what he was going to say. He hopped off the bus shortly after the other boy and continued the conversation. "Yeah. My dad's Russian," he said, in English. "Kind of grew up speaking the language."
He happened to catch sight of one of the girls packing up a gun - an M16, it looked like. Fascinating.

Kitty, meanwhile, had been watching Verin carefully. She knew that type. It hadn't amused her in the past, and it didn't amuse her now. Brimstone, he smelled like to her, if only very faintly. Like she couldn't tell anyway.
"Ooh, that's gonna get you on Santa's naughty list," she said, watching the fireball streak its way across the sky. "Naught but coal for you. 'Course, keep up displays like that and coal might be a blessing. Often toss fire at people, do you?" Her tone remained cheerful and friendly. Oh, gods. A vacation, indeed.

Damian stretched as he queued out of the bus, and went for his two suitcases in the luggage compartment as well. A burst of heat behind him made him spin around on the spot - someone was trying to fireball the fairy out of the sky. A twitch inside told him he needed to go get that fireball right now, but it wasn't strong enough to override his common sense. Instead, he made a comment. "Shit man, there's that much magic here? This is going to be just great."

Hearing a loud whooshing sound while she was packing up her book, Somariel looked out the window to see a tall, black haired boy lob a fireball into the air. It looked to be the boy who had been causing a commotion on the bus earlier. He'd better not have been throwing that at a bird, she thought. She was glad to see that the school grounds were so large. There were sure to be plenty of animals around for her to talk to. Mentally cursing her parents for being so unreasonable about her pets--that bobcat would have grown up perfectly tame with her around--she gathered up her backpack and computer case and went down the bus steps to get her suitcases and duffel bag.

"More than you can imagine. That I am not home now, immolating my enemies... well, it is a distressing thought, in any case." Verin sighed. "Do you know if they'll serve meat raw here, or do I need to catch my own meal? From what I've learned you don't serve meat raw. How you're supposed to gain strength without the blood of your enem- wait, that explains something."

"No, it's the organs you need, especially the liver, lungs, and heart. Blood is a very poor food source, and it drains quickly enough that it would be mostly gone by the time the meat is hauled to the building." Less Than Beta was very certain of that, having several times been the one hauling said meat to the den. He did have to make a mental correction for the blood not being half-frozen down here. He did doubt that there would be many good organs served, though. The teachers would probably be the ones to get those.

"It's not a physical thing, wolfman. Sustenance, at least in your terms is not necessary for the demons of our house. Drinking your enemy's blood steals his power. It is the final insult, and it tells the enemy that none of them are safe, even in death. What I'd do to be back on blood-soaked plains, killing without reason or remorse..."
Verin reached the front doors, and pulled them open, uninterested in the inner building unless it provided him some respite from the sun. "But my powers wane in this damnable light. The slaughter must wait until later."

Grimfist had stepped off the bus, suitcase full of weapons in one hand, and suitcase full of everything else in the other. There was some commotion about a fairy and a fireball... child's play. Not even all the magic in the world could compare to what he saw on the streets of his former city.
His tall muscular frame, deathly pallor, and determined stride sent out waves of intimidation that cleared a nice path for him as he made his way toward the building, trenchcoat streaming behind him like a cape. He knew they'd all be running in fear if his red eyes weren't covered by sunglasses.

Damien walked off after the rather strange group of people, towing his luggage behind him. He looked around, trying to get a good look at the school and the grounds. It seemed to be a very large place, with sme great spots to lay in the sun when summer came again. He smiled, and looked forwards to the school year.

Groundsman Fredericks waited until all the kids had gone into the building before he approached where the bus was parked. "Get that infernal contraption off my lawn!" He muttered to himself as the driver slowly complied. Once the bus was back off the grass he inspected the damage. It wasn't bad, just a short furrow in the ground.
"First bloody day...first bloody minute...and already ruining the place."
He sighed and closed his eyes. A few mumbled words and suddenly new grass shoots started to poke up through the ground. Within 30 seconds the furrow was gone and the ground was flat and perfectly green as if nothing had happened.
He turned and shuffled back towards the building to where he had left the ladder.

Theda had squirreled herself in a little corner near the rear of the bus, content to just watch all the crazyness and listen to whatever conversation she could hear. She'd met some strange people before, but this group of kids was downright fascinating! Not wanting to be trampled or squished in the exodus when they finally arrived at the school, she waited till the bus was nearly cleared before grabbing her small suitcase and getting out.
She stepped onto the lawn to cool her bare feet, and watched as the groundsman talked the grass into growing again. Odd. She'd never had to verbally convince anything to grow...and she wondered if it was because he was old and the plants didn't want to listen to him.
But then the main herd of students were fast disappearing into the school, and she trotted to catch up to them.

Once off the bus, Mellianne hurried towards the school, feeling hungry and wanting her caffeine fix. She made sure to be careful to not step on the lawn or to trip as she really didn't want to have to clean up before getting both wants. She didn't pay much attention to the old man as she made her way inside, there were a few people who grew things magically back home so it wasn't anything new.
