Well now this was just getting embarrassing.
At some point, Aurora has lost track of where those sounds were coming from. She'd wandered through the ground floor a bit, going through the now spotless dining room. Her stomach growled a bit at the remnant smells, but it seemed she had arrived much too late for dinner.
Thinking that everyone must be further up, she proceeded up the stairs. She stopped in front of one particular room - it was dark inside, and the door was locked. But there were whispers coming from inside - the buzz of running electricity. A wave and a flick and the knob fell to the floor in a clatter of dismantled peices.
"Wow," she audibly cried as she flicked on the lights of the computer lab. No one had ever taught her how to use a computer, so she wouldn't have known where the power button was. As luck would have it, she had no need for one. Her smile widened as monitors flicked on throughout the room, showering her in a caressing symphony of operating system boot music.
Finding the rest of the class was suddenly the last thing on her mind.

Malakai had been wandering through the building and after inspecting several offices, he heard the hum of computers. Not expecting anyone else to be wandering around at this time, he entered the room and sat at one of the computers.

Aurora voices a giggle. Across the room, she sat on a single chair in the middle of a circle of computers. Their screens flashed different colors and pictures - clip art from word processors, random images from the internet - too quickly to make out individual ones. Different sounds and music clips played, layered on top of each other to make a digital symphony.
"More... umph," she commanded her band. She'd never studied music, so didn't know words like 'bass' or 'tempo.' The computers seemed to understand her just fine though, and added another level of drums to the chorus.

Malakai flinched, startled, at the computer symphony coming from across the room. After the startle, he was intrigued and slowly approached the area.
He came up close enough to see the girl directing it all, but left it to her to either say something or not say something. He found it all strangely beautiful, and didn't want to interrupt her concert.

Aurora's animated smile dissolves into an embarrassed yelp as she turns and spots the tall boy nearby. She had forgotten that there might be other people nearby. The music, suddenly uncontrolled, devolves into chaotic noise. Screens start seizure-inducing flashes.
She fans her arms out, all the computers shutting off as her hands point to them. When she turns back to Malakai, her skin has turned bright shade of red, along with several LED lights that run along the side of her face, contrasting the embarrassed flush.
"Oh, I, uh. I forgot there were other people here. Hi," she said weakly.

"Wow! That so cool! I'm Malakai. What's your name?"
He took in her appearance, and decided that she was the prettiest girl he had ever seen.

"Aurora," she says meekly, crunching her shoulders together, trying to shrink away.
Something catches her eye and she unfurls a bit. "You have really weird eyes."

"You like them? I don't know where they came from, none of my relatives have similar eyes. How did you wire those lights around your face? That is a really cool effect."

"Oh," she unconsciously moved a hand up to them. "I just thought they'd look nice."
She didn't know exactly how she did it, and had never questioned it. The lines of implants were as much decorations as shrouds over old scars, however, so she started trying to come up with a change of subject. As luck would have it, her stomach did a good job of interrupting by loudly growling.

"You're hungry? I was just in the kitchen. There are still plenty of leftovers. I can show you where it is."
Malakai decided she must be a bit shy over her appearance, so he let the subject drop.
"Did you get here late or something? I didn't see you earlier. I think I passed the door to the girl's dorms earlier, so I could walk you home, so to speak, if you want."
(ooc: That's embarrassing. I first posted this under my other character.)

"Oh, that actually sounds really really great. I missed the bus, and I just got here a little bit ago."
She gets up, straightening the unusual fabric of her silver dress.
"Lead the way?" She gives a disgustingly cute smile.

Malakai was smitten by Aurora's smile.
He offered her a hand, ostensibly to assist her in navigating the maze of computer equipment she had earlier surrounded herself with.
"It's not too far from here," he said.
(ooc: would you like to continue this in the Midnight Snack thread under the Kitchen? If so, you can feel free to start the next posting over there, and I'll follow.)
