Malakai threw the door open and put the pitchers down.

"Thank you," Tzu Mei said as he entered the room. He the blankets and folded one before placing it under Michelle's head. The other was draped over her. If Malakai was wearing a jacket, he also gestured for the boy to hand it to him. "Why doesn't this place have a doctor?" he asked as he wrapped a towel around a particularly large chunk of ice.

Malakai, carrying his blankets and some towels and wash clothes, pushed the door open more slowly this time, in case the Professor was in the room with Michelle.
When he saw the Professor he handed him the blankets, and stood around. He didn't have a jacket on.

Tzu took a penlight from a hidden pocket and shined into first one of Michelle's eyes, then the other. "She may have a concussion," he murmured. "Find the headmistress, and bring her here."

Malakai shifted from foot to foot. "Where should I look for her Professor?"
(ooc: I have been assuming this is the morning of the first day of classes. Monday? I don't know where her character should be at this time.)

"She is probably in her office. If not, another teacher may well know where she is," he answered, carefully watching Michelle for any signs of awakening.
((I assume so too.))

"If I don't find her at her office, then I'll try the Dining Hall for another teacher." Malakai turned and ran back out of the room.

Portia entered the room, still wearing the blue apron she had donned during her now abridged cooking lesson, and looked around.
"I was told a student was injured during your class?" Her eyes set on Michelle.

"Yes, ma'am," Tzu Mei answered, giving a sharp salute. "She fell into a pit I dug for the obstacle course, and may have a concussion. Is there a doctor on staff?"

"No one that I know of is medically trained is part of the staff, unless they left it out of their resumes. And this was for the Advanced Defensive Fighting class?" Portia pursed her lips slightly. "I have to admit, an obstacle course on the first day is.... out of the ordinary, compared to what I believe most of us have planned. Tzu Mei, perhaps it would have been better to keep practical lessons for another day, to allow students to know what the class would cover?"
After a moment, she shook her head. Portia clearly had dismissed her question already. "Nevermind, it's too late for changes now. How did she land, do you know?"

Malakai had slipped in the door behind the Headmistress in time to hear her question.
"I believe she landed head first. I saw her dive through the window, like she planned to land in a roll, and come up running."
Malakai suddenly noticed the time, and realized that he had missed breakfast. His stomach growled loudly. He also realized he was still covered in dirt, mud, and sweat from the obstacle course.

Post by Verin Vetis Malphus on May 23, 2010 6:58:05 GMT -5
Verin was walking throught the corridors, trying to think of how he could counter Damien's threat. Messing with people's minds was less fun when the proper authorities got involved. Suddenly, he walked by this classroom. Seeing a group of people looking at an unconscious girl, an idea formed in his mind. What would be more horrifying than if people went to complain to the teachers and found that they considered him a good person? The thought brought a smile to Verin's face. People were so easy to manipulate....
Composing himself, Verin walked into the room. "Is everything alright?" he asked. Then, pretending to have seen the girl for the first time, he said "Oh dear. Well, if you need any help, I have a, uh, passing acquaintance with human physiology." Up closer, he could see that it was one of the girls from this morning's little demonstration of power, but that did not matter. If anything, it would make the resulting schism even more amusing.

Hearing Verin's offer, Somariel turned around and snapped "I know it's not my decision, but I wouldn't let you within 100 feet of an injured person, especially not after what you did to Scott and Damien this morning."

Tzu Mei did not allow his salute to waver while he was chastised. He did, however, gain a look of embarrassment. "I meant it as a basic agility and speed test. Perhaps the pits were overdoing it." He had planned to then customize the class by introducing exercises which were designed to compensate for any weaknesses.
To Verin he said, "You were the one who threw a fireball immediately after leaving the bus. I will not allow fireballs near an injured person."

The friendly smile vanished from Verin's face. "Well, I was offering my help, with pure altruistic intentions. After all, a guy can't build his entire life around fire and scaring people. But it seems my services are not required. I can respect that." Bowing politely, Verin left the room.
Mindless fleshmonkeys, making things difficult, he thought, wandering throughout the school.

"Perhaps," the headmistress said, in agreement with Tzu Mei.
She then raised a carefully groomed eyebrow in Somariel's direction when Verin left. "What did he do, this morning?"

"I know not about what he did to those two boys, but just this morning he threw a fireball at a young girl," Tzu Mei explained, still saluting. "I saw it from the window of my office. Permission to shoot him with a rubber bullet if he does it again?"

Michelle opened her eyes and quickly realized that she was no longer outside. How had she gotten back to school? She groaned in pain, imagining the top of her head having a huge, cartoonish lump where it had hit the ground.

Tzu Mei dropped the salute and held out a glass of water to Michelle. "Wilcox, drink this," he told her. "And stay still. Can you talk?"

Michelle replied by attempting to bite the outstretched hand. If she had realized that it belonged to Tzu Mei, she probably would not have done so, but she had not yet realized where she was or who was in the room with her.

Tzu Mei ignored the blood running off his hand in favor of using the other to hold out the glass of water again. "Drink the water, Wilcox; it will help. You fell into a pit on the obstacle course, and were brought here. How badly do you feel?"

Malakai was relieved when Verin left. He was confident that he could heal himself of whatever burns he got in a fight with the demon, but that didn't lesson how much it would hurt.
Maybe if there was an alliance of some sort, they could work together to defeat him.

Michelle took a sip of the water before replying, "I'm fine. Can I go now?" It never occurred to her to thank anyone in the room for trying to help.

"That is up to the headmistress," Tzu Mei answered as he used another towel to bandage his hand. "I would have you under strict bed rest until a proper doctor can look after you. Surely a soldier would know that wounds that appear harmless at first can be deadly if ignored. Meir, escort Wilcox to her dorm if the headmistress permits. I have to make some changes to my lesson plan."
With that, he left the room. A person with sharp eyes may have noticed that a small charm fell out of one of his pockets as he stood up.

Cutty frowned sightly at what Somariel said. "Perhaps I should have a talk with him, then. Threatening or scaring other students is not something I will overlook."
"I would have to agree with him," she said. "Perhaps you should go take a rest before you do anything else today."

"Perhaps you're right," said Michelle, lying back down as if the headmistress had convinced her. Michelle's actual plan was to wait for Professor Cutty to leave the room. Then she could grab the charm Tzu Mei had dropped.
