After she finished breakfast, Somariel went up to the second floor and entered the school store. Walking through the aisles, she selected eight binders, eight notebooks, a pack of highlighters, a pack of pencils, a pack of pens, and two packages of lined paper before heading to the checkout.
That was all she would get at the moment, but she knew she would be coming back after lunch for some of the less academic items.
((Total is $85))

Less Than Beta stepped in. After carefully examining the aisles, he brought a pack of pencils, a notebook, and sheaf of paper to the cashier. He left them there in order to free his hands for carrying more stuff, having not noticed any baskets or carts. Though really, he didn't look very hard for them so there was no doubt he simply missed them. A second trip brought two blankets (both brown), two sets each of the uniform shirt and trousers, and a backpack to the cashier's counter. A third trip brought a bottle of shampoo, a plastic SDA water bottle, and a paperback book.
Unfortunately, he did not find any math or spelling workbooks. How he was going to get all of that back to his dorm was anybody's guess.
((Total: $342))

After Cooking class, which had ended early because a student got injured in another class, Mellianne entered the store. Looking around she decided to get only the things she needed for class because she wanted to eat before her next class. Plus most of the non-class things she wanted were heavy and would definitely require a trip up to her dorm to drop them off.
Mellianne walked about and grabbed a backpack, five notebooks, a pack of pens, and a pack of pencils and went up to the cashier's to pay for her supplies which came out to a total of $95.

Just before the start of the first class, Damien rushed in, bought a notebook and a working pen (or rather, a 12-pack) after having found his had dried in, and went back to class.
Later on the day, around lunchtime, he returned to buy an alarm clock, two sets of the uniform and a compass (for math). On second thought, he also added three extra blankets in the same colour as were already there and a long piece of rope. Just in case.
(( that's $9 on the first run, $205 for the second. ))

After finishing breakfast, Michelle ran to the school store, where she bought a notebook, some loose leaf paper, and some pens and pencils. She also bought the most powerful desktop computer she could find, along with a keyboard and mouse. At the cash register placed an order for a flight simulator and joystick with trim controls and rudder pedals. With her wallet $1197 lighter, she took the computer back to her suite, planning to set it up after she came back from advanced fighting class.
(I estimated the joystick/rudder combo to be $200)

After lunch, Somariel returned to the store for the items she needed for her dorm room. First, she brought a wedge pillow, a small pillow, and two regular pillows to the counter, along with dark blue bedding, dark blue curtains, and a dark blue blanket. Then she brought up an alarm clock, an all-in-one printer, and a portable stereo. Finally, picking up a basket, she selected a 100 marker set, a 100 colored pencil set, and sheaf of computer paper, bringing her total to $430.

Post by Scott Logan on May 24, 2010 9:23:19 GMT -5
Scott and Aidan walked into the academy store together. It was the first time they both had a free period that day - in between Aidan's Latin and English classes, and in the gap between Scott's Cooking class (which had been cut short, anyway) and Music class.
"Can't wait for my sword to arrive," said Scott. Their parents were sending Scott's fencing sword by mail (since no amount of diplomatic pressure had convinced the airline to let it on the plane), but he'd forgotten to pack his fencing gear, so he'd have to buy a jacket at the store. He was also looking for a new computer, since his old laptop had died just before leaving for SDA.
Besides, there hadn't been room in his hurriedly-packed suitcase for the laptop as well as his violin, sheet music, clothes and sporting paraphernalia. And maybe it would be a good idea to get a bike while they were here, since his bike was back home in Kielder and it would be cheaper to buy a new one than send his bike halfway across the world. Plus, it was looking like he'd have two days with hardly any class, so having a bike to ride over to Port Virtue would help to keep things more interesting.
Aidan had paid more attention to packing his bags before they left, and had brought his laptop with him, but was planning to take marksmanship, and so would need to buy a bow and arrows. A new bike sounded like a good idea, too.
Both twins had forgotten to bring more than one set of bedding (or, in Aidan's case, had elected to bring extra books instead), so they were also shopping for room supplies.
Scott walked out of the store with a decent-enough laptop (with matching case and all-in-one printer), a new bike and bike lock, a new fencing jacket, a second set of bedding and an extra pillow (both in navy blue), and a backpack to keep it all in. He hoped he wouldn't fall off the bike while trying to balance everything as he rode across campus back to the dorm. ((Total for Scott, $995, if I can add up correctly)
Aidan had been more restrained, and was only trying to balance a bow, arrows, a second set of bedding, an extra pillow, a set of curtains for the dorm room, and a bike lock for his new bike. He'd also bought a backpack (since his duffel bag was still full of books and he needed something to carry his purchases).
He remembered that he and Less had talked about maybe getting a dartboard for the dorm room, so he asked at the shop counter whether he could order a dartboard in, since they didn't seem to stock any.
((Total for Aidan, $455, again if I can add up correctly in my head late at night).

Grimfist came to the checkout with a paltry number of items: a decent laptop, a laptop case, paper, and pens. It was all he needed. He never needed much, and could always convince another student to lend him whatever he needed.

At the sight of so many electronics, Aurora's grin widened to a point well past what modern medical science deemed physically possible. On a roller-coaster shopping frenzy, she spent easily half of her scholarship funds on pda's, small laptops, mp3 players, flash memory cards, etc.
Once the were successfully purchased, the nanites of her arms seeped into them, and they began dismantling - some components completely dissolving into the liquid metal. No more typing on metal sheets with lights for her!
She also bought a bottle of shampoo that smelled nice.
(Spent a ballpark of 1000 dollars on various bits of tech)

Rena decided that it would be best to get some of the more essential equipment a few days after term started. She bought a decent laptop, a notebook and some pens before leaving quickly.
(about $509 I think)
