After classes, Kahlen decided she should finally go to the library. Busying herself with her homework, dance, and hanging out with friends had made her forget the library even existed. She had finished her homework for the day and wanted to find something interesting to read.
Kahlen pushed open the heavy doors to the library and popped her head in. A few students were sitting at tables reading and some were browsing the aisles. 'Nice library here,' she thought. 'Too bad I didn't make time for it earlier.' She liked the openness of the library, so the large shelves stuffed with books didn't maker her feel claustrophobic.
'Let's see if they have anything about dance...' Kahlen went over to the library desk and asked the woman sitting behind it about the selection of books on dance.
"Well," the librarian replied, "we have quite a selection on many topics. Dance is a rather broad field, so I'm sure you'll be able to find something. The section you need is located over there." She pointed to a shelf on the back wall.
"Thanks," Kahlen said. She walked over to the shelf the librarian had pointed at, reading the plates on the ends of each shelf. 'Math, science...'
Finally at the section for the books on dance, Kahlen started reading the titles. She found a book about the history of tap and decided that it would do. She grabbed the book, made her way back over to the circulation desk, and checked it out.
Kahlen looked around the library for a cozy place to curl up and read. She spotted an area with some couches and chairs. Kahlen plopped her bag next to the chair and began to read.
