Trisha D'avalon was generally not a social or political person, at least as far as she knew. The girl was smart and nervous, keeping to herself and trying to maintain good marks. However, a part of the girl felt it was her duty to help the school and students which were being so very good to her.
Because of this idea of duty, when the teen heard in passing that there weren't enough people running for student council, she elected to try out. Choosing a time when she hoped Professor Cutty was free, Trisha approached the headmistress's door, knocking lightly and, in a soft tone, she asked "Professor? May I speak with you for a moment?" Hopefully the older woman was in.

Professor Cutty was indeed in her office, and she looked up and away from her computer's screen when she heard the knock. "Come in," she called.

Trisha entered when the woman told her she could, nodding politely to the headmistress and trying not to stutter when she spoke. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything ma'am? I wondered if you had a few moments to spare? I heard there were still spots open in the student council elections and I wondered if you still needed people."

"No, of course you aren't!" Cutty smiled warmly at the girl. "And yes, I do, and yes, there are. Please, take a seat if you like. Would you like the paper to show you're going to take part in the campaigning as a candidate?"

The girl smiled politely and took the seat as she was requested. "I don't really know, would it be of use?" Trisha inquired, "I don't know many people so I don't know if I'd get any votes otherwise, but I'm not sure." the teen expressed, fidgeting a bit with the hem of her skirt and trying not to ramble, biting her lip a bit to help in this.

"Yes, it would be, seeing as it's required." Cutty smiled and offered the student council candidate application to Trisha. "I'm sure you'll get to know everyone soon; especially since if you'll be running, it means you'll meet and get to know the rest of your classmates."

"Oh, all right then." Trisha said quickly, taking the paper from the other female and smiling. "Do you want me to fill this out immediately or would you prefer I fill it out and just put it in your inbox later?"
Idly, the teen wondered if the question about the paper had been rhetorical since she'd been asked about it and then told it was required. Maybe Professor Cutty was just gauging her reactions. "Yes, hopefully I'll meet other nice students. I've run into a few so far and they were all right."

"Either is fine, just get it in before the deadline, just to make things official. After all, we can't have a proper election without anyone running. And that's good; I want all of the students here to feel welcome to make friends."
