Aravind stands at the cairn, the trailhead, between half an hour and fifteen minutes before class. He's tossing a plain length of wood from one hand to the other, absently, as his eyes dart around his surroundings. Someone who knew him fairly well might recognize his bearing, stance, and mood as his attitude when on scouting trips, or unfamiliar surroundings-- he's in Ranger Mode now, rather than Teacher Mode. He'd realized as he approached the trail that he wasn't going to be able to compromise between Ranger and being the nice, compassionate, friendly teacher. If students wanted an easier time, they could come to Forestry-- Survival was... well, in the name.
His face doesn't change, though, and his mind is, at the moment, calm and blank; he's walking the line between calm and restless, and he'll be hard-pressed to keep from bombarding the students as they arrive.

Mellianne hurried back to the cairn for the second week of classes after eating breakfast, going for a quick swim, and working on her homework for other classes. She was dressed in clothes that were meant to get dirty and sensible shoes. Stretching a bit, to keep from getting stiff, she looked to see if anyone was coming up from the school behind her.

Aravind nodded to Mellianne as she came up, pausing for a moment. "Good morning... Mellianne, right?"

Mellianne nodded. "Yes sir. And good morning to you as well." She didn't really think anymore needed to be said, at the moment at least.

Aurora was in for the earlier forestry class, so she saw no reason not to stay for the afternoon survival class.
"Hi again," she greeted cheerily. She had come straight from the school, so she hadn't managed to lose herself in the forest this time.

((OOC: I'm going to change this to Forestry And Survival: Class Two, making it two weeks into the term, and merging Forestry and Survival into one class. That alright with everyone? If it's ok, I'd like to say Aravind told everyone at the Survival class the first week that it'd be one class, four hours long, the next week-- and they learned more about trees, but instead of just generic information, it would've been an introduction to their uses.))

Desi came running to class, not tripping on the forest floor mostly because she wasn't thinking about the possibility of tripping. She was wearing slightly more sensible T-shirt, overalls, and sneakers, though her hair still refused to be restrained in any sort of ponytail.
Skidding to a halt, she realized something odd: She wasn't late. Actually wasn't late for once. Well, how about that.
She liked the forest, in general. Forests were straightforward. You didn't have to worry about whether they were going to kick you out. Forests didn't have ulterior motives, and they didn't like you or hate you. They just were.

Mellianne turned to Destiny. "Hi Destiny, Aurora." She turned back to the professor, waiting to hear what he was having them do today.

Aelita appeared at the group, dressed in another extremely frilly pink dress.

"Hi again, Aurora; hello, Destiny." He looked about ready to start, despite it being about ten minutes early still, when Aelita came up. Frowning, he glanced at her frilly dress.
"Aelita, glad to see you're on time today. However, I think for future classes you should pay more attention to clothing; a dress-- such as the one you're wearing-- isn't doing you any favors in the woods."
