Three days after this bulletin was posted, Less Than Beta went out to the entrance of the main path into the forest to wait for any participants. He was a good deal early, mostly so he would still be the first one there if anyone else decided to show early. Naturally he spent the time sitting perfectly still right in the middle of the path. Pretty much the only clue that this was Less and not a wild wolf (other than that wolves weren't coastal animals) was the rabbitskin bracelet tightly wrapped around a foreleg. He was willing to wait for as long as it took for someone to arrive; large animals could not be hunted with a single person.

Verin showed up a little later than Less. An unusual addition to his clothing was a tattered hood and face mask that covered his head and disappeared beneath his shirt. The darkness inside the hood was unnatural as if shadows were collecting there, and the effect made his eyes appear to glow in the morning light. "Sorry if I'm late wolfman..." he said. "It took a while to find what I needed to make this." He walked up to Less. "I don't want any meat. Anmal meat is useless, you guys can keep that. I want the bones, if possible. And the claws, if our prey has them. And depending on what we hunt I might want to fill this with blood." He pulled out a small vial. "I broght a knife because ligaments can be a nuisance, and I promise I won't rune the fur." ((Note: I was kind of going for This with the hood))

Was he hiding from the sun or something? Unfortunately, being in wolf form Less wasn't able to say that he was more likely to get antlers than claws. Hopefully Professor Shiyal would arrive with the translation collar, or that an animal communications student would arrive soon.

Scott and Aidan ran up to the trailhead, both dressed in sensible hiking boots. Scott was even wearing a long-sleeved shirt for once. Aidan was carrying the new bow he'd bought for his marksmanship classes, while Scott had no weapon other than a sheathed chef's knife "borrowed" from the kitchens- he didn't expect to catch anything, anyway, so it was an excuse for a good walk in the woods.
"Hey Less, sorry we're late," he called out as they arrived at the trailhead. "Oh..." he trailed off as he saw Verin. "I, uh, didn't expect to see him here."
"Anyway, we saw your noticeboard and thought we'd come along. We've hunted with our dad before, but only with guns. But I wanted to try my luck with my new bow," Aidan said, shrugging his shoulders.
"How many people are joining us?" Scott asked.
((Sorry about the delay in replying, RL has been hectic))
