Biography: When Malakai was younger his parents, well known scientists, were frequently gone doing field research, and now they are frequently gone on speaking tours. He has spent a great deal of time living with his grandparents during his parents' travels. Malakai's grandparents moved from Bethlehem to the United States after the second World War. They have remained more comfortable with their native Arabic language than English, so he learned Arabic before he learned English. He learned Syriac--an Aramaic language, Hebrew, Biblical Greek and Latin, from his grandfather, a long time Bible scholar. He speaks Arabic, English, Syriac, Biblical Greek, Latin, Hebrew, French, Russian, and is learning Mandarin Chinese. Malakai has been noted as a 'natural' in every fighting style he has tried, and he is well on his way to becoming a master in hand to hand combat, which is good for his health, since he starts so many fights against groups of older boys and young men. His parents felt that St. Dymphna's would be the best place to contain Malakai and his unusual abilities and interests, as his sometimes violent outbursts have scared his grandparents.
Personality: Malakai plans to be a super spy some day. He is an avid watcher of spy movies, and will imitate great secret agents. He is generally arrogant, and can slip into bullying at times. He is impatient with stupidity, and can become needlessly violent when challenged by idiots or by rules that he sees as getting in the way of his goals. He isn't quite up to lifting cars over his head during tantrums, but smaller couches are fair game. He requires very little sleep, something on the order of 2-3 hours per day. He is a severe caffeine addict, and given his abilities you do not want to be around him in caffeine withdrawal.
