Name: Nikolai Ahadi Ivanovitch Zhukov
Age: 15
Hair color: Dark brown
Eye color: Grey
Height: 5'9"
Appearance:
Human
Nikolai is tall and slender, and walks with confidence, though he limps slightly due to a childhood injury. This limp becomes more pronounced (some would say exaggerated) when he is looking for sympathy, agitated, or panicking. He has clear grey eyes and dark hair, cut moderately short and scruffy. It looks as though he has a permanent tan, which makes it hard to pinpoint exactly where he comes from when taken in conjunction with his combined African/Russian features. He has an athletic build, and is skilled at parkour, whether as an exercise or a means to evade pursuit. He also knows some Krav Maga and Muay Thai kickboxing to defend himself.
As for his attire, he usually wears whatever he can find. Some would call him grunge, some would call him emo, but he really doesn't care what they think. Yes, he does dress upscale, from time to time, but when he's just casual, it doesn't really matter what he's wearing.
Canine
Nikolai could easily be mistaken for a Sulimov dog - that is, a crossbreed between a Siberian Husky and a jackal. He's a bit large to be one, and a mite feral-looking, but most humans wouldn't know the difference if it came up and bit them, which he is likely to do. His pelt is sort of brindled, leaning towards tawny. Like his human form, his build is still slender, though his size is reminiscent of why his father was known as the Bear.
Biography: Nikolai was born in Nairobi to a Russian foreign serviceman and his Kikuyu wife. He lived in Nairobi until he was seven, when his father got called back to Russia for a mandatory three-year home leave. Back in Moscow, he found it pitifully easy to sneak out of the house and go roaming. He was never unarmed - his father had given him a Swiss Army knife for his seventh birthday, which he treasures to this day.
When he was ten, they were transferred back to Nairobi - something of an anomaly, but not unheard of. Kolya still snuck out of the house to go wandering. Something about the way that other people lived intrigued him, especially since he had grown up in a diplomat's household, which was pampered. He often wandered to the slum of Kibera, near his school, and helped out the people there how he could. Two years later, when he had finished his primary school, his family was shipped back to Moscow for a year, and then to Kazakhstan.
After two years in Kazakhstan, they returned to Moscow again. Nikolai's parents, worried about his schooling, decided to send him to St. Dymphna's in order to give his last few years of school some stability.
Personality: Nikolai's cheerful enough, if you catch him in a good mood. He's got his idiosyncrasies - Nikolai is terribly organized, right down to designating what should go in the different pockets of his pants - but most people don't get to know him well enough to remark upon that little habit. When he does descend into a dark mood, he goes off to be alone for a short while and lets the emotion play out. That rarely happens. Beneath his friendly exterior lies a sharp analytical mind, and he is very good at picking out patterns and weirdnesses in many things, from economics to behavior.
Nikolai people-watches for fun. He smokes, though not often, and drinks occasionally when he can. He has a high tolerance for alcohol and a high threshold for pain. Nikolai is fluent in English, Russian, Swahili, and French, and passable in German. His favorite possession is his Swiss Army knife, closely followed by his bike, which he takes obsessive care of.
