Professor Freeman was, once again, in his classroom quite early. Hopefully, this class would be slightly less... interesting than the class for mages. A wave of the hand and a spoken word lit the chalk on the blackboard, burning it away in a second and leaving clean slate behind. He wrote simply "Magic" on the board, and waited for students.

A girl with bright blue hair entered the classroom, a hard-done-by steno notebook in her hands. Anyone would think she was just a student, if a little older than most of them - but they'd be surprised to learn that the loud girl with the color-changing hair was actually a professor.
"Hi...Professor Freeman?" she asked. "I'm Kitty Callahan, resident practical magic professor. Mind if I sit in on this lesson? I've got nothing to do, and it sounds interesting."

Tane stepped cautiously into the room several minutes early. He looked about, saw the professor and the word "magic" on the board, bowed his head and scuttled to a desk.

There was probably a reason to not go to both magic classes, but Less didn't know one. He knew enough theory to make it by in his pack, but bringing home more and from different styles would be a very useful thing. At the very least, there would be less egos to be bruised in the non-mage class. By taking both classes he could see a very nice set of differing viewpoints.
Less went to sit in the same seat he had in the class for mages, and waved at the professor.

Beau walked into his other class with Professor Freeman. "Hey dere teach! What we gonna do?" He said with a grin as he found a seat close to Less.

Aidan walked into the classroom and took a seat near Tane.
"Hey, I think I saw you talking to my brother on the bus," he said. "I'm Aidan."
"Um, professor?" he asked ((later in the class, assume)). "How are we supposed to do magic if we have no magical powers?"
((Yeah, I know this is written from Scott's account; I don't have time to log out and log in right at this moment))

"You can't," Less said as he set his notebook on the desk. "I can't, either. You need magic to use magic, and since none of the adults are going to die soon they won't be giving any away."

"Kia ora, Aidan" Tane says when Aidan enters. He holds out a hand to shake. "I'm Tane. You know, you look just like your brother, ao!"
Less hunched now that he isn't the only student present, he waits attentively for the class to begin. Aidan's question had been burning in his mind, too.

"Good morning, Professor Callahan," Professor Freeman said. "Yes, you are quite welcome to sit in. In fact, I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on my course plan - I'd hate to accidentally cover the same ground as you."
After checking his watch, Professor Freeman walked back to the head of the classroom and addressed the class.
"Good morning, everyone. This is magic for non-mages; unlike my other class, this will be an entirely... pragmatic introduction to magical theory, the capabilities of mages, and how you can work with, around, or even against a magic-user successfully. Magical ability is not a requirement here. In short, this is a class about magic, for people who don't want to spend the next four years or so learning how to throw fireballs around."

Damien shot into the class only *just* in time, as Professor Freeman started addressing the class, and almost flung himself into a seat to the side of the room, panting.
"Sorry Porfessor, won't happen again," he panted between getting his notebook and trying to get a breath.
