Shirtless and wearing only gym shorts, Beau walked around campus trying to find a place he could train. He walked into the woods and started to go deeper and deeper in an attempt to find the perfect spot.

Aravind was about three miles out from the edge of the wood, binding a young hemlock-- with this recent bout of parasites, the species needed all the help it could get-- when the amulet around his neck began to vibrate, sending a mild shock through his body. Swearing loudly, he leapt up, leaving the tree with a brightly-colored cloth tied around it, and sprinted off towards the clearing, moving as fast as he could. He'd set the beacon to give him half a mile's warning, he should have some time...
And so it was that he came sprinting through the wood, very nearly silent until he was right on Beau's heels. Suddenly remembering the last time this had happened, he took care to make his footsteps a bit more audible, and slow his pace a bit, so that he only jogged onto the trail Beau had been following.
"Oi! You!"

Beau heard footsteps behind him but was surprised to hear the sharpness in the voice. "'Ey what dat fo'? Beau jus' lookin' fo' a place ta train. What choo yellin' 'bout?"

Aravind folded his arms, raising a cool eyebrow down at the boy. "You're looking in the wrong place, kid. This area's pretty dangerous, especially if you're training in something. You want a place to train in, head to the gym, or talk to Professor Mei; he's used to Building Things." The capitals on the last two words were nearly audible.
"And-- why do you need to be training in here, anyway?" He frowned a bit. "What are you training for?"

Beau listened to the warning and smiled at the end of it. "Haha what dere dat here can hur't ole Beau? Beau prettee strong mmhmm. And Beau wanna fin' a place outta da way so 'e don't 'urt nobody." A perplexed look came across his face at the last question. "What choo mean why Beau train? Beau train ta get good an' strong."

Aravind shrugged, leaning up against a massive beech behind him, his arms still crossed. "Training for strength alone? Fair enough. But you won't hurt anyone in the right environment." A frown crossed his face again. "You might do a lot of damage out here, though. And I'm being lenient-- you're lucky you didn't run into the forest's other caretaker."
Shrugging a bit, Aravind pushed off the tree. "Aside from which, whether or not you can deal with the Powers out here is not the point. It's dangerous, it might be a different kind of power than you understand, and powers aside, you aren't coming in here unless you know what you're doing in the woods. Which," he added, with a fairly caustic glance, "I rather doubt, at the moment."

Beau watched the caretaker cross his arms and decided he should to the same. "Well...Beau don' wan' da whole school ta know what Beau can do. So Beau do what he always do...go to da wood. Beau don' hur' no one in da wood." He was almost upset as he made his next comment. "Beau from da Bayou, he migh' not know dis wood but he know da wild. Some dings carry true no mattah what." He looked somewhat defiant as he made this last comment.

"Alright, alright. You want to keep your... powers, or whatever it is you have, secret." He thought a moment. "That's fine, but you've got to do it somewhere else. We can go to the headmistress, or to Professor Mei-- but you can't do it here." He hesitated, then added, "It's not you hurting people in the wood that I worry about. It's-- this isn't a gym, it's not a playground. You use whatever powers you have here, you can destroy a huge part of the ecosystem, and that's not even taking into account the Powers in the clearing-- which we're not sure about. This could easily backlash every blow onto you-- we just don't know."
"You know the wild, that's good. Then you know it's unpredictable, and uncontrollable, and. Well. Wild. And-- I'm glad you know the Bayou, and that will help you here, a bit, but you do have to understand, it's a different place. Things that would help you in the swamps there might hurt you there; the animals are different here, the plants are different, even the ground is different. Some things carry true no matter what, but... well, most things don't." He shrugged. "So, at least for now, it's probably better we find you a place away from this clearing to practice."

Beau shrugged as he turned away for a moment to look deeper into the woods. "Beau not gonna hur' da wood but...sighhh...Beau fin' another place. Beau don' wanna get in no trouble dis quick. But don't unnerestimate ole Beau, he know da way of da wild." He began to walk back towards school and as he left he muttered under his breath. "You wrong, da wild is a playgroun', jus' gotta know how ta play."
