Procedure
So, because I can't always read every thread leading up to an injury/illness/random whathaveyou, I have to ask you guys to help me out when you start a new thread here. Here's what I need the first post to establish:
* Time of day, day of the week, and any other conditions relevant to that point in time.
* Perceptible signs and symptoms of what's happened to your character (if any).
Think of it as that form you fill out when you go in to see your doctor. Only don't write it like a form, because that would be boring.
Office Hours
Ame's posted office hours are Monday through Friday, 9-12 and 1-5, so if your character turns up then you can assume she's at least somewhere in the infirmary if not actually behind her desk (see below). On weekends it doesn't hurt to try anyway, and failing all else, her pager number is also posted. She is on call 24/7 and will come running at need.
Currently and for the foreseeable future, her 1-2pm hour is reserved on every other Monday, and she spends Saturday mornings in the stables. She will not be available at those times except for an emergency.
Layout
Not to scale:
Subject to modification as necessary. This is mainly here so I can keep track of things, but I hope it will be useful for everyone else, too. ^_^;
The infirmary contains a foyer, Ame's office, three exam/procedure rooms, six overnight rooms, and storage.
The foyer contains comfortable seating and some scattered tables and magazine racks. There is also a small urn of hot water alongside Styrofoam cups for tea, hot cocoa, or instant coffee in the winter. In the warmer months, the urn may contain iced tea or just cold water. This is available for patients or anyone passing by. Proper hydration is essential for good health, after all.
Ame's office contains her desk and two extra chairs for meeting with people in privacy. She has a personal electric kettle which she mainly uses for tea, with extra mugs for sharing. There is a window overlooking the foyer that can slide open. It can also be shuttered for those private meetings. There is a bell on the window ledge.
Each exam room contains an exam table, a sink, a chair, and basically all the usual stuff you see when you go in for a check-up. These rooms are spacious enough to be used for more complicated procedures, too, if necessary.
The overnight rooms contain 1 bathroom and 2-4 beds each. The beds can be screened off from each other for privacy. These are normally used if someone comes down with something contagious, to prevent it from spreading too quickly. Room 6 is generally unused except in emergencies. It exists because you just never know when some kind of magical or mad-sciencey plague might strike in a place like this. There is space on either side of each bed for the nurse to move around freely and to place monitors, I.V.s, etc., if necessary.
The storage room is for storage. >.>
