New semester, new students. New hair color, too -- she'd re-dyed her hair over the break, from the eye-catching lime to a slightly more sedate violet.
New determination to pound proper spelling and grammar into teenaged heads. And, oh, it looked like she was going to need it.
Professor Antiope Katsaros scrawled her name across the board, considering for a moment before deciding against adding her subject. She set the chalk down, glanced at her watch, and blinked; she was a full half hour early.
Ah, well. She was an intelligent adult, she could find something productive to do with herself. And who knew, students capable of reasonable conversation might also show up early. All things were possible.

Normally Aurora hated classes that were mostly talking - that she was voluntarily coming to an English class may have been odd were it not for the fact that Aurora had been writing some fiction recently and though this would be a good place to show it off.
It also seemed that she had show up early to a class for once. "Hello, Professor! I'm Aurora!" The 12 year old girl with the wild red hair had her regular form-fitting silver dress on. The story she'd been working on, 'Silver Sparkles the Magical Rainbow Horse,' was saved to a flash card in her PDA that was currently dismantled and floating in the ocean of nanobots that surrounded her prosthetics.

Destiny walked into the room with a confused expression on her face. "Uhh... is this Chinese? I think I'm supposed to be in a Chinese class..."
Had she missed an entire class--again? Or was she simply in the wrong classroom?

Scott was looking forward to English - he'd been an avid reader ever since he was very young - and so he'd turned up early to class for once.
"What will we be studying this semester?" he asked Professor Katsaros.

"Hi, Aurora." To her credit, Antiope didn't bat an eyelash at her. "I'm Professor Katsaros. Go on and find a seat. And -- no, this isn't Chinese. This is English," the professor added, in the direction of the confused newcomer. "You're welcome to stay, though."
That handled, Antiope turned to Scott. "English, of the grade nine level," she answered, fully aware that this was probably not exactly what he'd wanted to know. "This is the introductory class, and my habit is to review the course outline in the first class, so likely anything you need or want to know will be answered in a little under half an hour."

Destiny was surprised. Not only had she managed to get to class on time; she was actually early! Sure, she'd forgotten which class it was; but here she was. Sometimes things did go her way!
She dutifully found a seat, although she wasn't too optimistic about how interesting this class might be. Destiny much preferred daydreaming to books.

Pieter was thankful that he seemed to have arrived to a class on time. English - he already knew this language so ha was unsure what was going to be taught in the class. All thought of that was driven from his mind when he head the singing coming from one of the girls in the room, the one with the bright red hair. Immediately he walked over and realised what it was - she was them and they were her, it was perfect. "Can I sit here, please?" He had to get to know this girl to see how she managed to get that way - so perfectly in tune with them.

Laquinta walked into class, with a neatral face on. She smiled at the teacher, with a Hello-nice-to-meet-you-professor-I-will-be-avidly-following-this-class smile, and followed with the actual words.
"Cháiró poli, Professor. This is the English class, ochi? I would like to improve my English by a bit."

"Sounds like you've got a good handle on it already," Professor Katsaros said, blinking in equal parts curiosity and surprise. "Though there's always room for fine-tuning. Where are you... ah, never mind, it's about that time. Go ahead and find a seat, I'll bother you later." She grinned, and gestured to the seats that remained empty. "We'll give it a minute longer, I think, just in case, though honestly I don't expect many more people."

Derek looked at the room number, checked it against his schedule, checked it against his map, hoped that he had the appropriate schedule, and double-checked the room number. Then he shifted his vest to rest more comfortably across his shoulders, took a deep breath, and walked into the classroom.
"Um... Katsaros' English class?
