This is the current list of trait modifiers and detractors for use.
Trait modifiers are traits that boost and make the characters more Sueish or Stuish. Buying trait modifiers costs points.
Trait detractors are normal/unhelpful/balancing traits that make characters less Sueish or Stuish. Detractors, overall, make your character more dimensional. Buying trait detractors gives you points.
All student characters begin with thirty trait points and may gain points each year.
Teacher characters begin with forty points.
No hard limit will be placed on the buying of detractor traits, but try and control your buying in that area since in general it will only make your character more balanced and rounded out, even with the power increase that goes with more points available for modifiers.
A good rule of thumb is to try to not double the amount your character originally starts with.

How about unusual items as a modifier, like a spell book or a backpack that's larger on the inside than the outside?

How does the modifier for the allergies work? The allergic trait is worth six points. You get an additional .67 points for each common allergy. So, say your character is allergic to strawberries. This is a base of six points. If they are also allergic to animal dander, add on an additional .67 points. Each three additional allergies gives your character another two points to spend. So, if your character was allergic to strawberries (+6), animal dander (+.67), bees (+.67), and peanuts (+.67) they get a total of eight extra points.

How about points add-ons for faked/self diagnosed/silly effects/just used as an excuse mental disorders?
For instance--"Mary Sue #3573 has 'OCD'. Her obsession is that her hair is perfectly normal, straight, thin, and brown. She is compelled to spend at least an hour per day ogling 'special' Mary Sue hair, while wangsting about how it sucks to be normal.
Marty Stu # 5938 enjoys being violent and throwing cars around to see how well they smash. He blames his violence on 'bipolar', and says he cannot help his behaviors, so everyone should be going 'oh poor thing' instead of trying to arrest him for smashing their cars. Of course, they do, and he is never charged with any of the damage he does.
Anyway, things like that.

Like "pretend depressed", only with other mental disorders. Ah, yes, would work, use same point value as. I'll add something along those lines in later.

What about being from heaven or hell or some other otherworldly dimension that's a bit too vague to be a country?
EDIT: Also, what point value would brain damage resulting in unusual behavior be?

Being from heaven, hell, random dimension would go under the same category. And brain damage related items would go under the health section, I guess, along with the other mental health related things. That said, for everyone reading, even if your characters hit one of these things, I will go and say right now that if it's just a minor thing and isn't something that is going to be played up, it doesn't need to be added for the point usage.

How much for superhuman sense of smell/taste? I'm more interested in the taste but taste and smell are closely related in terms of senses. Smell would be pretty useful at times too.

I would say that would go under the same area as superhuman stamina and so on, and as you say, they are closely linked, so would be grouped together. Though I can't help but wonder why anyone would want superhuman taste.

Any chance of getting a technopathy modifier? That would be thrown in under Powerful Skills for ten points.
