It was a Wednesday morning in early February, and for today, the cookbooks had not been issued out, and the cooking equipment was still in its drawers and on the shelves, nor was there any example of new ingredients for the students to examine, or even a recipe on the blackboard.
"Good morning," Cutty began, when all of the students had entered the room. "We'll be doing something different this week! Instead of learning a new recipe or learning new methods, we'll be having a small cooking contest. " Cutty smiled. "That said, it will not be limited to only students taking this class. This contest will be open to the entire student body."
"Everyone has until the eleventh of February- next Friday- to decide what they are going to make, and then bake or cook it. Whatever you do, it must be finished by six PM on that day. The recipe itself may be for anything- a soup, a salad, a cake, tartare- but I would suggest that you all try and make it your own, and unique to yourselves."
"Practicing the recipe beforehand certainly won't hurt, because in this case there will be a prize for first place. You're welcome to arrange and make up teams if you would like. Does anyone have any questions?"
Yes, a cooking contest. For this class 'assignment', post a reaction, or asking a question, or anything you can think of that would fit.

Less cocked his head to the side and paused in the act of scribbling in his notebook. He had an idea of what he wanted to do, but... "Will you be providing us with supplies, or will we have to hunt them ourselves?" Caribou was going to be hard to find at the Academy, but if he could order it through the teacher, it could work.

"I'll help you acquire anything that the stores in town don't carry, or would be hard to get here otherwise, so if you have anything in mind that wouldn't be local, I would suggest getting in touch with me sooner than later."

Damien grinned. Cooking things was fun, and eating things was even better. Maybe he could snag a recipe for muffins somewhere.
"Can we make anything, or do we have to make a specific meal? I mean, it's a bit different whether we're making lunch, dinner or desserts, or just random things."
