Name: Monsieur Jean-Paul de Chêne
Age: 15
Hair color: Mossy green
Eye color: Green
Height: 6’6”
Appearance: Jean-Paul looks like a combination between a human and a tree. His skin is a sort of grey-green in color and reminiscent of bark, and his shoulder-length wavy hair looks and feels like thick, stringy moss. His elbows, knees, and finger-joints look like small knotholes, and instead of getting acne, every spring his face and upper back breaks out in small buds. He chooses his clothes for their function, rather than a desire for style. He generally prefers attire than is loose-fitting, comfortable, and covers a lot of his body (due to his unusual skin tone). No matter what he wears, he always keeps a small bag of seeds on his person at all times for spellcasting purposes.
Biography: Jean-Paul is the son of a Hamadryad and a philandering French nobleman who was bet by his drinking cronies that he couldn’t seduce a Hamadryad. To make a long story short, he could, and Jean-Paul was the result. His father, though absent during his upbringing, left his mother with a fairly sizable trust fund to provide for Jean-Paul’s education and care, and it is with that money that he is being sent to Saint Dymphna’s. In human years, he’s about 54.
Personality: Jean-Paul was raised by tree spirits, and identifies himself as being one of them. However, he tends to get along better with humans than he does with those he deems 'his own kind'. This likely has something to do with the way he is veiwed by both societies; among trees, he is considered hyperactive, awkward, petty, disrespectful, and generally immature. Humans see him as dignified, high-minded, polite, and eloquent. He is extremely self-confident, which occasionally can be seen as pretentiousness by those who don't know him very well. This is not entirely innacurate; If something happens to break his composure, however, he will swiftly become unbearably irritable and obnoxious. However, if one takes the time to build up a relationship with Jean-Paul, it will not go unrewarded; he is a powerful ally and a faithful friend.
Skills: Jean-Paul can control and communicate with plant life, an ability he received due to his heritage. This power even works on dead plants and objects or substances that used to be plants (such as rubber or cotton). Additionally, he knows quite a bit of other magic as well, although he still prefers to study plant- or fey-based magics. Jean-Paul received a thorough education in languages, and is fluent in French and related languages (Creole, etc.), English, German, Italian, and Spanish, as well as a good number of Elvish, Faerie, and Sylvan (tree-tongue) dialects. His general fitness is above average, and he can handle himself fairly well in a fight, but he's generally no match for a trained opponent (without the use of his powers, that is).
