"For your information," replied Michelle, Rena was the one who kicked down the door, if she hadn't then she would have been court-martialed for insubordination. And if I hadn't shot Less then Rena's head would be 10 feet away from her body."

"For your information," Ada said mockingly, "I was standing right there, so don't think you can play fast and loose with the truth. Nobody knew about the AI to give Rena an order, so no, there's no way she could be court-martialed for insubordination. Also, if Less was going to take Rena's head off, he wouldn't have shifted back to human. He gave Rena, and then you, the lectures you so thoroughly deserved, and that was that. I only wish I'd been faster on the air raid siren, so Less wouldn't have taken your bullet."

Kent kept listening to the whole exchange scribbling more notes and some words onto napkins.
He was going to need a lot more napkins.

"If you hadn't created a potentially dangerous A.I." responded Michelle coldly, "then we wouldn't have had to confiscate it." and i wouldn't have had an opportunity to look good in front of the brass, thought Michelle, before continuing, "Face it, you screwed up and now you're grasping at straws to shift the blame."

Struck by a sudden realization, Ada laughed, and then leaned back in her seat.
"Why, thank you for explaining your own arguing technique," Ada said, in a genial voice. "Downright nice of you to call yourself on grasping at straws and blame-shifting. Couldn't have done it better myself, really."
Ada turned and reapplied her attention to her food, wordlessly dismissing Michelle.

Aurora was finished picking at her tray, and with all the hostility, no longer saw a reason to stay. She loudly announced, "Less looks a bit tired. C'mon Less, lets go back upstairs." She pet him like a dog and tried to lead him out.

Kahlen glared at Michelle. She had been very rude during dinner. Kahlen decided that she would ignore Michelle unless Michelle did or said anything rude to her.
"Well, I'm going to go prepare for my little adventure. If you want to come, we'll meet by the main doors in half an hour, eh?"
Kahlen got up from the table, waved, and went over to the trash cans to dump her tray.

Mellianne suddenly slapped her head. "Oh, I can't believe I almost forgot about it. We have something called an arkan sonney. It is a type of fairy creature which looks like a pig with long hairs. They are said to bring good luck to one who catches them. For this reason, they're also called "lucky piggies". They tend to flee human beings, but we have a few tame ones. It was said by the old folk that if you catch a lucky piggy, you will always find a silver piece in your pocket. I don't know about that, but they sure are lucky. "They're just like a hedgehog. I don't remember how to care for a hedgehog, but there should be a few books on it." Finished with her dinner and wanting to get stuff for the trip as well, Mellianne followed Kahlen to the trash cans. ((all info about the arken sonney is from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arkan_Sonney))

Finding the drama around him winding down somewhat (mostly due to people leaving) and his pile of napkins growing larger he paused.
He scooped up the napkins and went off, likely to his room, glossy-eyed and thinking about music.

"That sounds great!" Kahlen said. "Arkan Sonney? Never heard of it, but it seems like it would be a good pet. We'll talk about it soon, yeah?"
Kahlen skipped out of the hall after she dumped her tray. "I'll have to look up hedgehog care. I'm pretty familiar with rodents, but it never hurts to research more."

Mellianne nodded. "Yeah. They look sorta like Swinub from Pokemon, only a little hairier and with a slightly longer snout." ((totally made up the way they look, well sorta, I made up the fact that they look like Swinub: bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Swinub_(Pok%C3%A9mon)))
