Kahlen put her bag in the seat of a chair at the table in the middle of the room. She went over to the food serving area and grabbed a tray. She quickly decided on chicken fried steak, fruit, and tea.
Balancing her tray on one hand, Kahlen did a few tap steps to get to her table. She set her tray down, glad that she didn't spill anything.
Kahlen had a map of the school grounds open before her. She had circled an area labelled "Fawn Clearing." Kahlen was tracing different paths through the woods to get to the clearing, trying to find the shortest. While shoving food in her mouth, Kahlen traced a line on the map.
(I'm going to guess that we should move past the first day, so this could probably be any day, really.)

Less appeared in the dining hall and made his way to glorious food. He walked slowly, and was wavering as if exhausted. People with good eyes may notice that he was limping slightly as well. After picking out the biggest steak he could, piling on far too much butter on his mashed potatoes, and actually choosing a drink (tea), he staggered over to Kahlen's table and plopped down. He peered curiously at the map and asked, "What are you doing?" ((See this fiasco for an explanation.))

Mellianne entered the dining hall after Less, grabbing a chicken fried steak, a plate of fries, a small plate of salad, and a piece of chocolate cake. She took a soda out of her bag and sat down next to Kahlen. "Hey, what are you guys doing?"
On the way over to the table, she had taken a close look at the way Less was walking before he had sat down so she quickly added. "Hey Less, you okay? It looks like you were limping a bit."

Less shrugged while he shoveled mashed potatoes into his mouth. After taking a moment to swallow he answered, "Michelle Wilcox shot me. There was a problem in the computer room." It had hurt a lot, now that he thought about it. No wonder the pack had to keep in touch with the humans in their territory.

"Hi everyone!" Aurora took a seat next to everyone, tray packed this time with very unhealthy, greasy foods. She had learned from her previous encounter with unrestricted sweets to not load only pastries, but she was still far from learning about dietary health. She was also giddy that there was finally a group of students in the dining hall of people she had already met.
"Is your foot still hurting, Less?" She was glad she caught his name from Melianne as the fiasco in the computer lab had moved a bit too quickly for her to ask.

Shocked, Mellianne wasn't sure what to say right off, then she swallowed. "Um, she shot you, like with a gun?" She thought for a moment. "Wait, isn't she running for StuCo? I'm pretty sure that if there are more than four people running, she just lost all chance of getting a spot. I know I wouldn't vote for someone who shot another student."
Mellianne then turned to Aurora. "Hey." Then she noticed Aurora's food choices. "Hmm. You might want to get a few more vegetables next time. You don't want to clog your arteries up. Cause if I remember Health from Jr. High right, that could happen if you keep eating that way. And getting exercise would be a wise choice too."

Less nodded. "Foot still hurts, yes. Wanted to sleep in the dorm, but have to eat." He didn't seem to notice that he was dropping his pronouns. "With a gun, loud one. Said something about silver bullets. Bad metal for weapons, so why?" He broke off his speech to tear into the steak messily and gulp down some tea.

"What are arteries?" she asked, nibbling on peice of pizza that was difficult to hold with the amount of greace. Frowning at it, she was fairly certain she might avoid similar kinds of food just to avoid the cleanup.

Mellianne finished her chicken fried steak and started on her salad. "Well Less, silver bullets are 'traditionally' the way to kill werewolves. But those are the kind of werewolves that change only with the full moon and can turn others into werewolves with a bite, and tend to be aggressive and rather unthinking when in a wolf-like form. I don't know if that kind actually exists. It might just be a tale, like how unicorns are supposed to be peaceful and pure."
Turning to Aurora, Mellianne thought of a way to say it while making sense. "Well, blood flows through veins right? Well there a few really big veins that are called arteries that are connected to the heart. With tons of greasy and fatty foods, it can collect in those arteries and clog it up, causing heart problems, along with a bunch of other things. Though you can still eat all that stuff sometimes, you need to make sure you eat healthy food too. I know I have a few greasy foods I love."
((I find it very ironic, that I, the lover of carbs and fried food, is advocating eating healthy...and I apologize if I'm not entire correct with the description of arteries, but my character, like me, isn't really knowledgeable at how a body is put together, she just knows how to keep it in better condition than I do))

"Arteries carry blood from heart, veins carry to heart," Less said as he finished off the steak. He considered mentioning that fat was one of the first things hunters started eating after the organs were gone, but maybe humans worked differently. He also thought that perhaps cooking said fat took all the value from it, which would explain why humans tried to get rid of as much of it as they could. He didn't know anything about obesity, so really that was all he could think of for why Mellianne would think fatty food was bad.

Mellianne blushed, but continued. "Oh, right. I forgot about that. I think I only passed Health class cause of luck. Anyways, exercising will help keep the fat buildup on other parts of your body, like your stomach. Though, I wouldn't hold off with eating, or going on any diets if I were you. It's not safe for pre-teens and teenagers to do that. We're still growing."
She finished her salad and started on her fries, taking sips of her soda.

Mellianne smiled. "Well, not really. Not with all the grease on it. If you really want to know about healthy foods, you could ask the biology teacher if she knows any healthy foods that aren't vegetables. I eat a few types of vegetables, so I'm not quite sure. If you eat meat, eating some would be healthy cause it can give you protein. But asking the biology teacher would definitely be a wise choice. She could probably tell you what different kinds of food, and how much of each, would be good for you depending on age, gender, and all that."

"Well, that was by far the worst of it," Ada said. "The whole mess started when I made the lab into a supercomputer for a research project. Somehow, thanks at least in part to Aurora, it turned into an AI. Michelle then tried to boss everyone around and make us give Tumult to her, and when Less tried to defend us, that's when she shot him. They got dragged off to the office, just in time for professor Galontaure-Jones to spend from then until ten minutes ago grilling me about what I had done to make Tumult. And now, the supercomputer is taken apart, and I don't have the answer to the problem I was trying to solve in the first place."
After Kahlen had made the offer, Ada continued.
"Sorry, but I've got a project to work on."

If I can't, which is most likely, I might be able to contact my older brother and ask him. I think he might be able to answer it. He's a genius and is doing tons of research at the moment."
She turned to Kahlen. "I wouldn't mind going with. With only having Biology today, I've been really bored."

The knowledge that waiting would be worse than telling Ada right away didn't stop Desi from procrastinating anyway. She didn't want to tell her roommate about messing up the computer; but what else was she supposed to do? No one else could have used it; and Ada wasn't the sort of person who wouldn't notice; and Desi couldn't really keep a secret to begin with. Better just get it out in the open and hope Ada wouldn't hate her.
Knowing the other girl would probably be at dinner, Desi reluctantly headed downstairs. She sought out her roommate, who was sitting with a few others, looking a bit tired. She had probably just been studying hard; Ada was the sort of person who did.
"Uhh... roomie?" Desi asked, tapping Ada on the shoulder. "Can I talk to you real quick?"
